News for Chase

More NBC Cancellations: 'Outsourced,' 'Perfect Couples,' 'Chase' & More

The networks are cleaning house in preparation for next week's Upfronts presentations of new shows, cancelling existing shows faster than anyone can keep up. The latest shows to get shut down? NBC has axed freshman Thursday night comedies 'Outsourced' and 'Perfect Couples,' as well as drama 'Chase' and reality series 'School Pride' and 'America's Next Great Restaurant.' While rapid-fire press releases and rumor confirmations have been the norm for getting the news out the past few days, 'Outsourced' star Rizwan Manji actually took to Twitter before news of their cancellation broke: @Riz_Manji: "Before it hits the trades-Outsourced isnt coming back.Sad to see it go-hopeful that this opportunity was a step towards others! Thanx all!" http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/13/nbc-cancels-outsourced-perfect-couples-chase-more/

TV Ratings: NBA conference semi-finals, NASCAR dominate

Fast national ratings for Saturday, May 7. Saturday's prime-time viewing was mostly devoted to NBA basketball. ABC's airing of the NBA Conference Semi-finals: Miami Heat vs. the Boston Celtics steadily grew in viewership throughout the evening, chased -- not especially closely -- by FOX's live coverage of the NASCAR Showtime Southern 500.ABC led the night in total viewers with 7 million and a 2.9 rating/10 share. Fox pulled in a tidy Saturday night audience as well, with 6.3 million watching and a 1.8 rating/6 share. The rest of the TV watching was a hodge-podge of crime procedurals and true crime programming -- "NCIS," "CSI: Miami," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "48 Hours Mystery," none of which did especially hopping business.Saturday hour by hour:8 p.m.FOX: "NASCAR 2011" (6.5 million viewers, 1.8/7 households)ABC: "NBA Conference Semi-finals" (5.7 million viewers, 2.2/8 households)CBS: "NCIS" (5.2 million viewers, 0.7/2 households)NBC: "Chase" (3.6 million viewers, 0.8/3 households)18-49 leader: "NBA... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/tv-ratings-ncaa-conference-semi-finals-nascar-dominate.html

Chase’s Kelli Giddish Runs to THE GOOD WIFE

There’s apparently going  to be a whole lot of investigating going on in  THE GOOD WIFE . Either that or someone needs to be caught because Deadline  reports  that Kelli Giddish ( Chase ) has signed on to appear in the last two episodes of the season  as yet another Lockhart Gardner investigator. Giddish’s character used to work with Kalinda (Do you think she knew her as Leila?) and the role is said to be "provocative." Given that Kalinda is involved, I’d say that was already assumed. Because  The Good Wife  has not yet been renewed, Giddish is only set to appear in two episodes, but the role could apparently extend into next season. 'Chase' to Air Last Episodes on Saturdays

NBC has found a slot for police drama " Chase " to complete its first season. The freshman was yanked out of NBC's schedule in early February when the rating could not meet up to the network's standard.   The network initially ordered a full 22-episode season but when the rating did not improve, the number is cut to 18 in December. The 13th episode aired January 26 and the rest of the episodes will now get screen time starting Saturday, April 23 at 8/7c for five weeks straight.    Read More... http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00039577.html

TV Ratings: 'American Idol' down just 3.5% from premiere, still wins easily

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011"American Idol" fell slightly from last week's premiere, averaging 25.2 million viewers over last week's 26.1 million. The first hour lost about 5% of viewers from the first hour of the premiere, while the second hour only lost 2%, as the show once again saw a rise in viewers from the first half to the second half.Interestingly, the second Wednesday show is only down 3.5% from the premiere, but the first Thursday night show lost almost 14% from the premiere. The second Wednesday episode actually did 2.6 million viewers better than the first Thursday night show. Thursdays are not a traditional "Idol" night and it's looking like maybe the competition is stiffer or that the hour-long format, as opposed to the two-hour format, is less appealing. It will be interesting to see how tonight's episode fares. Things are not looking good for "Off the Map," as the show... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/01/tv-ratings-american-idol-down-just-35-from-premiere-still-wins-easily.html
