'Lost's' Josh Holloway talks 'Community,' and taking a break from TV

In the home stretch for Season 2, "Community" caused quite a stir when news that "Lost" star, Josh Holloway (SAWYER!) is appearing in the two-part finale airing back-to-back for one hour on May 12.He plays a mysterious stranger who appears at Greendale and takes part in the reprisal of Season 1's popular paintball episode, which is also an homage to the "Spaghetti Western" made famous in the 60s by Italian director, Sergio Leone."It's a fun role," Holloway says in an interview with TV Guide. "I loved those guys. I had a really good time and they were so awesome. I'd worked with Chevy [Chase] before on a movie so I was honored to get to work with him again, and the rest of the cast."And according to Gillian Jacobs, who plays Britta, they enjoyed him right back. "He's a hunk and he looks excellent in his costume," she tells Zap2it on our set visit for... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/losts-josh-holloway-talks-community-and-taking-a-break-from-tv.html

Josh Holloway Talks Community

As the sarcastic and strapping Sawyer on Lost there were few things that rattled Josh Holloway. Taking on polar bears, the Others, and those creepy folks from the Dharma Initiative — no sweat! But when it comes to things that intimidate the actor in real life, the smoke monster doesn't hold a candle to the cast of NBC's Community . http://www.tvguide.com/News/Josh-Holloway-Community-1030943.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Community' creator Dan Harmon would like to thank the 'shippers

While "Community's" night at PaleyFest occurred before Thursday's (March 17) news that NBC has given it a third season renewal, we're sure it doesn't change who creator Dan Harmon credits for the show's success: A dedicated group of people who adopted the show and its characters very early on and feel very passionate about their couplings."It was the first 'shippers," Harmon tells Zap2it. "It was like these young girls that you see live journaling and stuff, the core of the core of the core, like people who are willing before anybody else is to go, 'I love your show, I love that character, I love that character with that character.' And I always thought that in our darkest hours no matter what competition was heaped upon us that we have this globule of an audience that will not watch anything else if we're on. And it's really important to stay thankful to those people."Harmon... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/community-creator-dan-harmon-would-like-to-thank-the-shippers.html

VIDEO: Community's Chang Tests Baby Daddyhood; Britta Has a Crush

Could Senor Chang become Papa Chang? On Thursday's Community , the study group throws a baby shower for Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown). Also, Chang (Ken Jeong) has warmed up to the possibility that he could be the father of her baby, but the only problem is that Shirley feels that Andre (Malcolm Jamal Warner) would make the better, saner choice. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Community-Chang-Baby-1030805.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Community,' 'The Office' and 'Parks and Recreation' get another season [Updated]

We're pretty sure Stage 31 on the Paramount Lot where NBC's "Community" shoots is vibrating with excitement right now. Not only has their show been moved over to the renewed column on NBC's scheduling board, but "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation" move over, as well, to join its Thursday comedy block buddies."I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," says NBC Entertainment Chairman, Bob Greenblatt. "Along with '30 Rock,' they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication.""Community," while garnering much critical acclaim, has had as star Yvette Nicole Brown called at PaleyFest recently, "a small, but mighty audience." With an average 4.7 million viewers overall, the show consistently does well in a time period that includes competition from Fox' "American Idol," CBS's "Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "Wipeout.""The Office" will go on without Steve Carell's Michael... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/community-the-office-and.html

'Community': Spoilers and more 'Pop-Pop' from PaleyFest

The cast and producers of NBC's "Community" took over PaleyFest 2011 on Tuesday (March 15) and having been on the set a few times we can attest to the fact that the audience got a taste of what it feels like to work on the show.Although we missed Donald Glover (who plays Troy) and Alison Brie (Annie), the gang gave us Jim Rash, who plays the costume-lovin' Dean Pelton and Senor Chang himself, Ken Jeong.Creator Dan Harmon is generally opposed to spoilers (he even gave us a little lecture on our finale kiss scoop when we interviewed him on the press line), but he definitely came to play at PaleyFest and gave us some good ones:Shirley's baby is no maybe: Harmon confirms that Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) will have her baby in an upcoming episode. The question as to whether it's Chang's (Jeong) or her ex-husband's, played by returning guest-star Malcolm Jamal Warner, is the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/community-spoilers-and-more-pop-pop-from-paleyfest.html

Community Cast Discuss Season Finale

Josh Holloway, best known as hunky con-man castaway Sawyer on LOST , will be joining Community for their two-part season finale. This morning, E! Online posted some quotes from the cast today about the finale and working with Mr. Holloway. Producers have teased that the finale will have a "Sergio Leone homage." Well, just who is Sergio Leone? He's the Italian film director / screenwriter best known for his association with the "Spaghetti western" genre. His films include The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America and The Colossus of Rhodes . Joel McHale (Jeff Winger) on the theory that Holloway is one of the only guys who would be believable as someone cooler than Jeff: "I agree fully with that theory, because he is cooler than me, just by walking in a room, and Jeff is a little unhappy about it. Or happy about it. Maybe he learns a little something about himself from the experience." That sounds intriguing! Read More.... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/nZyxupuwHI8/51368

Community Spoilers: Flashbacks and Paintball to Come

A baby, a paintball war and references to Who's The Boss ?. As previewed at the Community panel discussion last night at PaleyFest, these are just some of the developments fans of this NBC sitcom can expect over the next few weeks. Let's take a look at what various cast and crew members teased about what's to come... Creator Dan Harmon hyped a flashback episode that he described as a "memory clip-show." Shirley will give birth prior to the season finale, and the identity of the father will be obvious at that time. Abed will soon enroll in a Who’s the Boss? history class. Naturally. Magnitude will POP POP in some way on the season finale. Look for his funniest moment yet. Pierce will play a key role in the next paintball war, with Chevy Chase telling fans: "I do something in it that will surprise all of you. I won’t say Josh Holloway is involved, but you’ll see." http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/community-spoilers-flashbacks-and-paintball-to-come/
