'Community': EP Dan Harmon explains Abed's evolution

If there's any character on NBC's "Community" that fans have asked us to find out more about, it's Abed. In many ways, Abed (played by Danny Pudi) has been like the chorus in a Greek tragedy, which speaks for the audience, but the show has begun to explore his character and develop it as in Thursday's (Nov. 4) episode called "Aerodynamics of Gender" with guest star Hilary Duff. "Abed was always a commenter in the beginning," executive producer Dan Harmon tells Zap2it. "He was sidekick kind of a character. But that was there as a safety valve for anybody who was so sick of TV and didn't trust it anymore. Here he was a fan of everything in the past and also now a fan of what you were watching with him." Harmon describes Abed as his way of connecting to an audience - a character that the viewers, who may be wary of a new show, can relate to. To Read More Click here.

TV ratings: 'Big Bang,' 'Private Practice' rise Thursday

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 "The Big Bang Theory" jumped by more than a million viewers over last week and helped keep CBS in its usual top spot in the ratings Thursday. A big episode for KaDee Strickland on "Private Practice," meanwhile, gave that show its biggest audience of the season. CBS easily won the night with 13.5 million viewers and an 8.3 rating/14 share in households. ABC (8.75 million, 5.9/10) came in second, while the return of FOX's regular Thursday lineup (7 million, 4.3/7) took third. NBC drew 5.2 million viewers and a 3.2/5 to finish fourth. The CW scored just over 3 million viewers and a 1.8/3. In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS' 3.4 rating beat out ABC's 3.1 for the lead. NBC (2.3) edged FOX (2.2) for third. The CW earned a 1.2 in the demo. To Read More Click here.

Jim Rash on Playing COMMUNITY’s Dean Pelton

NBC debuted a COMMUNITY-based web series this week featuring Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) conducting Greendale business in his own unique fashion. In the first three "Office Hours" webisodes released on, we see the dean mediate a sexual harassment case involving the Human Being and a cheerleader, seek advice from Leonard about a toupee, and try to console a student who misunderstands their relationship. Jim Rash has become a fan favorite on Community, playing the ambitious and mostly well-meaning but basically certifiable Dean Pelton. He has been a member of the Groundlings improv company for eleven years and had a starring role in NBC’s The Naked Truth along with recurring ones in shows like Reno 911 and That 70s Show. Behind the Scenes of 'Community's' Halloween Episode

Greendale Community College is a very special kind of educational establishment, catering to the drop-outs, the rejects, the elderly and even those who like to forge their qualifications. It's also one of the most entertaining places to spend 30 minutes of your time on a Thursday evening, even up against such ratings heavy-hitters as CBS' 'The Big Bang Theory' and Fox's 'Bones'. Perhaps you've never seen an episode of NBC's 'Community,' now in its second season (quite likely, since the show is criminally underrated), but if you only watch one Halloween episode this year, you should make it this one -- it's even on at a special time, 8.30PM ET, so you don't have to choose between those geniuses on CBS and the ... different type of geniuses that populate 'Community'. Besides, this episode has zombies, and Ken Jeong in skintight Spandex; what more could you ask for from a TV show? To Read More Click Here.
