TV ratings: Shaun White helps Olympic ratings rebound Tuesday, 'New Girl' drops

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014Snowboarder Shaun White had a disappointing night in Sochi Tuesday, but his presence helped give NBC's Winter Olympics coverage a ratings boost. The prime-time portion of the games improved both on Monday's numbers and the comparable night from the 2010 Olympics.FOX was the only network to run a full slate of originals opposite the Olympics Tuesday, and its numbers were predictably down. The season finale of "Dads," "New Girl" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" all dipped some from last week.NBC brought in 23.7 million viewers and a 13.8 rating/21 share in households for the night, once again out-drawing the other four broadcast nets combined. CBS (7.8 million, 5.2/8) was the best of the rest, finishing well ahead of ABC (3.1 million, 2.0/3). FOX took fourth with 2.8 million viewers and a 1.8/3, and The CW (798,000, 0.5/1) trailed.NBC scored a 6.6 rating among adults 18-49, up a couple tenths from... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-shaun-white-helps-olympic-ratings-rebound-tuesday-new-girl-drops.html

'Dads' Season 1 finale ends with surprising amount of heart

After quite a bumpy start, "Dads" Season 1 bowed out on Tuesday (Feb. 11) with a double-header that ended with a surprising amount of heart for a show that was once criticized for its racist and sexist jokes. The first episode was pure sitcom material. After Crawford (Martin Mull) drunkenly peed the couch in the middle of the night, Camilla (Vanessa Lachey) makes him give up drinking, and promises that she and Warner (Giovanni Ribisi) will join him in solidarity. All three of them struggle like they're alcoholics (meaning they probably are). Warner and Crawford take up a new hobby of playing guitar and writing songs together, like "Raised By a Drunken Dad," to distract themselves, but when they play a song called "Bottoms Up" at an AA meeting, they incite a riot. Oops?Meanwhile, Edna (Tonita Castro) claims David (Peter Riegert) is stealing her change from her change jar. Which he was, but only to... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/dads-season-1-finale-ends-with-surprising-amount-of-heart.html

‘Dads’ EPs ‘Confident, Not Cocky’ Show Will Return – ‘Bummed’ by Fox’s Lack of Promotion

The two-part season finale of “Dads” airs Tuesday night on Fox — though the future of the shortened series is still very much up in the air. “Dads” received its full season order back in October, but eventually the final three episodes were trimmed. Nothing has been announced on a potential subsequent run, but the Seth Green/Giovanni Ribisi vehicle has enjoyed somewhat of a modest resurgence as of late.  Read More... http://www.thewrap.com/dads-fox-seth-green-giovanni-ribisi-alec-sulkin-wellesley-wild-mike-scully-seth-macfarlane
