'Dance Moms': Abby Lee Miller's back but she lied about why she left

Last we saw Abby Lee Miller on the April 3 spring finale of "Dance Moms," she was skipping out on her dancers and their moms after her star student, Maddie, froze on stage at a competition and forgot her routine."I need a break -- a break from these moms, away from these kids, away from the yelling," she said then. She also told Maddie's mom, Melissa, at the time that she was leaving to be with her own mother, who was ill -- not because Maddie forgot her dance. However, when she shows up to the studio in Tuesday's (June 5) episode, she cops to the real reason why she left: It was all because of Maddie."Some kids are just special!" she screams at the moms right in front of the girls. And then despite Maddie forgetting her dance at the last competition, Abby doesn't put her on the bottom of the pyramid. She instead ends up... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/dance-moms-abby-lee-millers-back-but-she-lied-about-why-she-left.html

'Dance Moms': Christi Lukasiak on why Chloe stays at Abby Lee Miller's studio

After jumping ship at a competition in the spring finale, Abby Lee Miller's back Tuesday (June 5) on "Dance Moms," as are the girls and their mothers -- ready for another round of battling with their tyrannical dance instructor. And Chloe's mom Christi Lukasiak tells Zap2it she's ready to rumble. What can fans expect of the summer season? The dancing has gotten better, the moms are badder, and Abby might be a little bigger. With all of the turmoil between you and Abby, why do you stay at her studio?Isn't that the million-dollar question? I think the biggest reason is that ... Chloe grew up with those girls. Chloe was an only child for eight years. She didn't have a sister at home, but she had all these girls at the dance studio that were like her sisters. ... I can't take her away from them. I might not always like Abby, but we're there for so... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/dance-moms-christi-lukasiak-on-why-chloe-stays-at-abby-lee-millers-studio.html

'Dance Moms' sets June 5 summer premiere date

Two months is a long time to go without an Abby Lee Miller/"Dance Moms" fix, but at least we now have a premiere date for the show's summer return. Abby and her troupe of tiny dancers -- and their titular mothers -- will be back on Lifetime on June 5.And Abby's bringing the fury. Though it looks like the moms may have gotten a little saucier over the break too, as evidenced by the sneak peek in which Brooke and Paige's mom, Kelly, tells Abby, "Stop eating! That's why you're fat!"Yowzas. Which mom are you most excited to see return: Kelly, Melissa, Christy or Holly? Any predictions on how many episodes it takes before one of them threatens to leave the studio ... again?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/dance-moms-sets-june-5-summer-premiere-date.html

Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller to appear on Drop Dead Diva

The famously tyrannical Abby Lee Miller is set to make her acting debut in a role that's not too much of a stretch for the "Dance Moms" star. She's playing herself on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" in a not-yet-filmed episode set to air this summer, reports the New York Post.In the episode, Miller is called as an expert witness to testify in a court case involving Bobbi Dobkins (Sharon Lawrence), who's being sued for negligence by the parent of one of her dance students. After seeing video of Bobbi's instruction techniques, Abby testifies that Bobbi's teaching may have led to the girl's injury. Season 4 of "Drop Dead Diva" premieres June 3, and Abby's episode will most likely air in August. Other guest stars for the season include Serena Williams, John Ratzenberger, Valerie Harper, Brandy Norwood and Patty Duke. 'Dance Moms': Kelly Hyland tells Abby Lee Miller 'Stop eating -- that's why you're fat!'

Lifetime's original "Dance Moms" doesn't return till June, but we have a sneak peek to whet your appetite for Abby Lee Miller destruction.Obviously, Abby's break from the girls and their mothers after a devastating loss to Candy Apple's Dance Center at their last competition wasn't enough to mellow her out. All it takes to set her off in the clip below is an unprepared prop. But this time, Brooke and Paige's mom, Kelly, has had enough of Abby's outbursts as she marches downstairs and dishes it right back at the dance instructor."Stop eating!" Kelly screams at a surprised Abby. "That's why you're fat!"And then Abby's head explodes ... we can only assume. We'll all see the aftermath soon enough when "Dance Moms" returns to Lifetime this summer. In the meantime, check out the preview.Who's your favorite Dance Mom?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/dance-moms-kelly-hyland-tells-abby-lee-miller-stop-eating----thats-why-youre-fat.html

Dance Moms Season 2 Summer Premiere Sneak Peek: “Stop Eating, That’s Why You’re Fat!” (VIDEO)

In a truly terrifying sneak peek of the Dance Moms Season 2 summer premiere (coming in June), dance coach extraordinaire Abby Lee Miller is stunned into silence by one of the Moms, a tiny dancer runs crying into another Mom’s arms, and a fat joke is made. Also? We are ridiculously excited for the return of the Pittsburgh Screams. Screams are aplenty in this sneak peek, when Abby takes away Paige’s solo because her mom Kelly didn’t put stoppers on the prop chairs when she... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/pVPivBpc_N0/dance-moms-season-2-summer-premiere-sneak-peek-stop-eating-thats-why-youre-fat-video

'Dance Moms' vs. 'Dance Moms: Miami': Which show is better?

Lifetime's original "Dance Moms" will be back from its spring break with new episodes in June, but in the meantime, "Dance Moms: Miami" premiered Tuesday (April 3) to fill the void with a little Latin flair.A few key differences between the two shows: Viewers actually get to see instructor and "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 6 finalist Victor Smalley dance (unfortunately, viewers also got to see him vomit in the premiere when he fell ill on the way to the competition), while Abby Lee Miller mostly instructs from the sidelines or with the help of another instructor. As instructor/studio co-owner Angel Armas, says, "We love the kids. We hate the moms." While still strict, the duo seems to have more praise to dole out for their students. The Miami kids -- and moms -- are intense. Kimmy wakes up at 4 a.m. every day to finish her homework, and then it's off to... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/dance-moms-vs-dance-moms-miami-which-show-is-better.html

'Dance Moms': Abby Lee Miller Is Not A Good Loser

Abby Lee Miller does not take losing well. For the first time, and by only one point, the Candy Apple's Dance Center beat Abby Lee's students in a dance competition on the season finale of " Dance Moms " (Tue., 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime). Miller got emotional for the first time ever over a dancer, when her favorite student Maddie forgot her routine -- she did just think she'd missed out on a ballet scholarship to Chloe. Abby took time from her breakdown to call Cathy, the Candy Apple's instructor, "Satan" and declare that the one-point loss has completely ruined her reputation. Granted, Cathy's behavior in the episode was rather abhorrent, stealing a routine from Chloe and parading her girls in to rub her win in Abby's face. Chloe got her back though by winning anyway. The titular "Dance Moms" called Abby out for this emotional outburst, saying it was confirmation that she played favorites on the show. Confirmation that would seem to be a bit redundant, considering that the show itself makes that point pretty clear as well. But Abby hugging Maddie is a far cry from the yelling she reserves for the other girls. It's all too much for Abby, who declares she needs a break and leaves abruptly. Perfect timing, as "Dance Moms" is taking a break as well. What will happen next? 'Dance Moms' look-alikes: Fantasy casting for 'Dance Moms: The Movie'

With the Season 2 finale (April 3) of "Dance Moms" and the premiere of the spinoff "Dance Moms: Miami" upon us, Zap2it's started dreaming of even bigger and better things for Abby Lee Miller and her posse of moms and their daughters -- like our fantasy casting for (the completely fictional) "Dance Moms: The Movie" (minus the girls, who will all play themselves -- this is what Abby's been training them for!), starting with Abby Lee as played by actress Patrika Darbo, who most recently guest-starred on "The Middle." Check out the rest of our picks below. Kelly played by Kate GosselinBut it has to be short-haired Kate Gosselin. Kelly may be up for implants, but she would never rock a bad weave.Melissa played by Courtney Thorne-SmithThey both know how to work a side-swept bang.Holly played by Michelle ObamaBecause the likelihood of the First Lady playing a reality star in a film is about as... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/dance-moms-look-alikes-fantasy-casting-for-dance-moms-the-movie.html

'Dance Moms': Abby Lee Miller choreographs plastic surgery routine for the girls

Abby Lee Miller continued to push the envelope on Tuesday's (March 27) episode of "Dance Moms" on Lifetime with a plastic surgery-themed routine for her troupe of tiny dancers. The dance entitled "Nip and Tuck" was intended to convey "a message about our body image ... about people who have work done," Abby told the girls, who danced around in nude costumes -- again -- for the routine with surgical marks on their faces to music from the show "Nip/Tuck.""I feel very strongly about going under the knife," Abby says. "You should not go under that knife unless it is absolutely necessary."The routine may have been a not-so-subtle message to the Dance Moms themselves, but is it really appropriate to use little girls to convey such an idea?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/dance-moms-abby-lee-miller-choreographs-plastic-surgery-routine-for-the-girls.html
