When an English tourist, June Anderson, is found dead in a luxury rented villa strangled by her own scarf initially seems a robbery gone wrong. DI Poole suspects her husband, Doug Anderson (Neil Pearson), who was a former corrupt colleague in Poole's old C.I.D. department in London. Annoyed by his presence and convinced he murdered his wife, Poole is frustrated by Anderson's watertight alibi. Attention turns to the victim's sister and former girlfriend of Doug Anderson, Janice Palmer (Matilda Ziegler), who inherits June Anderson's fortune. Meanwhile, the villa’s owners, Will (Ralf Little) and Ronnie (James Murray) are acting suspiciously together with Ronnie's ex fiancée, Lily Shaw (Hannah Spearritt). Motor oil on the scarf and a poisoned cat could be the only way to break an alibi.
