A final one-off episode to conclude the series. Tom has managed to find a job closer to home and Kev realises the true meaning of 'family'. Derek Noakes (Gervais) is a tender, innocent man whose love for his job and the people he cares for shines through. He's 49, adores animals, Rolf Harris, Jesus, Deal or No Deal, Million Pound Drop and Britain's Got Talent, and the viral internet video Hamster on a Piano - but his main hobby is autograph hunting, a hobby he shares with one of his friends, Kev. He works in a retirement home with another friend, Dougie (Pilkington), who is also his landlord. Derek cares deeply for old people because, in his own words "they're kind and funny" and "tell him stories about the olden days." Hannah (Godliman) is also a care worker at the home and is Derek's best friend. She's smart, witty and hard-working, but unlucky in love, and like Derek, always puts other people first.
