Where's Sally Draper? Kiernan Shipka guests on 'Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23'

Kiernan Shipka (aka the adorably complicated Sally Draper) may be MIA from AMC's "Mad Men," not having appeared in the past few episodes (much to the chagrin of some people) but she'll turn up Wednesday (April 25) evening on ABC's "Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23." The 12-year-old actress plays herself in the episode opposite show co-star James Van Der Beek, who also plays himself. "That was a really great experience for me," Shipka tells Huffington Post of her "Apt. 23" stint. "I mean, it was such a different environment. First of all, I'm used to 'Mad Men,' where you have to get every word exactly correct for everything, and it has to be very true to the script. In this, they were all, 'Try saying this this time,' and 'Improv a little bit.' It was awesome. It was such a different experience, but it was so cool."Well done, Kiernan -- but do us... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/wheres-sally-draper-kiernan-shipka-guests-on-dont-trust-the-b-----in-apt-23.html

'Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23' EPs sing the praises of Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker

Though most of the press for "Don't Trust The B---- in Apartment 23" has focused on James Van Der Beek's return to TV playing a fictionalized version of himself, viewers of the show will quickly find that the Beek from the Creek is a supporting player to two fierce female leads. The show is anchored by Dreama Walker as June, a small-town girl who moves to New York City with a very detailed five-year plan and has to abandon it when job prospects fall through and her fiance turns out to be a cheating jerk. For fans who know Walker best from her dark, conniving role on CBS's "The Good Wife," June is a breath of fresh air.Executive producers Nahnatchka Khan and David Hemingson say that she was an easy role to cast once Dreama was in the picture. "Dreama was the second person to come in and read," Khan says, "and she just nailed... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/04/dont-trust-the-b-----in-apartment-23-eps-sing-the-praises-of-krysten-ritter-and-dreama-walker.html

Sally Draper Talks 'Don't Trust The B----' Stint

Sally Draper has had plenty to do on " Mad Men " so far this season (and if we're right about the ever-cryptic on-air preview for this week's new episode, she might be experimenting with smoking cigarettes, too), but the time has come for actress Kiernan Shipka to flex her comedy muscles on another show. On this week's " Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 " (Wed., Apr. 25, 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC), Shipka is playing "herself" opposite star James Van Der Beek , who is also playing "himself." The preview below shows the Beek trying to nail down the mannerisms of the Ship (yeah, that's something we're trying) for a body-swapping comedy they're working on. When we talked to Shipka last month before the "Mad Men" Season 5 premiere, she had to be tight-lipped, as usual, about that show, but was more than happy to gush about shaking things up a bit on "Apt. 23." "That was a really great experience for me. I mean, it was such a different environment," she said. "First of all, I'm used to 'Mad Men,' where you have to get every word exactly correct for everything, and it has to be very true to the script. In this, they were all, 'Try saying this this time,' and 'Improv a little bit.' It was awesome. It was such a different experience, but it was so cool." This isn't the first time Shipka has spoofed herself for comedy -- she first wowed "Mad Men" fans by playing a Child Star Psychologist for Funny or Die.
