'Downton Abbey' filming a wedding for Season 3?

"Downton Abbey" is in full swing filming its third season across the pond. We already knew from an interview Elizabeth McGovern gave to the U.K.'s Sun newspaper that Season 3 will feature two weddings (which we hope are Lady Mary's and Lady Edith's). So is the show filming one of them?Oxfordshire radio station 106 Jack FM posted a Facebook photo gallery that shows a bunch of photos taken in Bampton, which doubles as the village on the show. The actual photos don't reveal a whole lot. But we were particularly struck by the photo above. That certainly looks like a man dressed in an old-fashioned tuxedo. Like what one might wear for a wedding? And it could be Dan Stevens, the actor who plays Matthew on the show.It might be nothing, but we'd like to think it's Mary and Matthew's wedding that is being filmed. And it makes sense they wouldn't be having the actual... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/downton-abbey-filming-a-wedding-for-season-3.html

'Downton Abbey': Matt Milne cast as the new footman

We said in our "Downton Abbey" Season 3 character wish list that we hope the household would hire a new footman. William's death has definitely left a hole in the cast. Well, now we got our wish, according to Digital Spy.Matt Milne has joined the "Downton" cast as Alfred, a new footman - who is also the nephew of O'Brien! Dun dun dunnnnn. We wonder if he'll be another villain for her to manipulate like Thomas, or if he'll perhaps be a delightful young chap that everyone likes and who will refuse to do O'Brien's bidding. We also wonder if Alfred is the son of O'Brien's favorite brother, the one who was killed that Lang reminded her of? That would be an interesting layer to add to the character.Milne has previously been seen in "War Horse" and the upcoming "Wrath of the Titans." "Downton" is back in production as of last week and will debut its... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/downton-abbey-matt-milne-cast-as-the-new-footman.html

'Downton Abbey's' Allen Leech on Season 3, his nickname for Maggie Smith and more

PBS Masterpiece has been hosting a series of chats with various "Downton Abbey" cast members in recent weeks. You can read the highlights from Hugh Bonneville's chat here and the highlights from the chat with Laura Carmichael here. But Monday, Feb. 13 the chat was with Allen Leech, who plays Branson. Leech is clearly very tech-savvy (his Twitter is always abuzz), so his chat was able to cram in a lot of questions during the hour timeframe. As such, we've included most of them here in Q&A format.Did you have any idea of how your character Branson would develop when you you joined the show"Not at all! i wasn't even option for any of the following series so it was a great surprise to be back for season 2."Did you get any background about Branson's life? Where he grew up? Religion? How he came to become political? "Julian Fellows and myself created some of the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/downton-abbeys-allen-leech-on-season-3-his-nickname-for-maggie-smith-and-more.html

'Downton Abbey' Season 2 finale preview: Bates on trial, Matthew vs. Sir Richard

Watch Downton Abbey Season 2 Episode 7 Preview on PBS. See more from Masterpiece. The second season of "Downton Abbey" comes to a close this coming Sunday night (Feb. 19) - and then it doesn't return for almost a whole year! Boo hoo. But it goes out with a bang, as Christmas 1919 comes to Downton in the form of a 90-minute special. In the above preview, see that poor Mr. Bates is in prison and on trial for the murder of his wife. Yikes. It certainly doesn't look good for him, there is a lot of circumstantial evidence. Sir Richard Carlyle is still being eviiiil towards Mary, who wants to throw him over and marry Matthew - but will that happen for them? It was pretty satisfying to see Matthew punch Sir Richard, no doubt about that.Oh, and it looks like the servants get a oujia board. Huh."Downton Abbey's" Season 2 finale airs Sunday, Feb.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/downton-abbey-season-2-finale-preview-bates-on-trial-matthew-vs-sir-richard.html
