Zap2it: If you were launching your career now, would you consider being a contestant on "Duets"?Jennifer Nettles: You know, it's so hard to say. I would hope that in some ways, I would be open to it. I've always been that way in my career, this being a current example of exploring new things and doing what it takes to get material heard. If there were something else opening up when I was coming through the ranks, I would like to think I'd have been open. We are in such different times than we were 20 years ago.PICS: 'Duets' Season 1Zap2it: When did the "Duets" process actually begin for you?Jennifer Nettles: The producers approached me last November, to plant the seed and say, "Hey, it's an idea we're throwing around, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. 'Duets': J Rome's 'I Will Always Love You' brings the house down

For Movie Night on "Duets," Jennifer Nettles and partner J Rome took on a big one - Whitney Houston's huge hit "I Will Always Love You" from "The Bodyguard." (She had previously tackled Celine's "My Heart Will Go On" with partner John Glosson, so you gotta hand it to Nettles - she's got balls). But for the fifth week in a row, J Rome ended up at the top of leaderboard and this week it was 100% earned. He blew the doors off the place with his solo moments on "Always Love You" and Nettles' harmonies were great too. The judges had nothing but good things to say. What did you think, "Duets" fans? Was he easily the best of the night?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/duets-j-romes-i-will-always-love-you-brings-the-house-down.html

'Duets' Kelly Clarkson: 'There's not a whole lot of variety going on'

Zap2it: Is your focus on "Duets" more on working with your singing partners than on the competition with the other teams?Kelly Clarkson: Yes. Forget that we're all in competition with each other, just think of it like we're all on the radio. There's room for everyone; there's room for stuff that sounds like Adele, for stuff that sounds like Kesha, for stuff that sounds like Blake Shelton.I think how you get to the top is by competing with yourself, and that's what I did on "American Idol." Every week, I'd try to one-up something or to showcase something different that I thought maybe other people couldn't do. It's like a strategy of knowing when to hold back or shine.PICS: Meet the 'Duets' contestantsZap2it:What's your thought about nurturing two other singers on "Duets"?Kelly Clarkson: I think it'd be cool to get into artist development, aside from my own career. I love finding people who are supertalented... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/duets-kelly-clarkson-theres-not-a-whole-lot-of-variety-going-on.html

brightcove.createExperiences(); The theme on "Duets" this week is Party Songs and Zap2it has an exclusive sneak peek at mentor superstar Kelly Clarkson and partner Jason Farol practicing their chosen song - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones. But before they start rehearsals, Kelly wants to watch the "Hallelujah" performance from last week that landed Jason in the sing-for-your-life Bottom 2. "I was actually shocked that Jason was second-to-last last week ... I thought he did a beautiful job of emoting and I thought he should've been higher than he was ... then when I watched it back, I was like, 'OK, there were pitchy places I couldn't hear,'" says Clarkson. But she has high hopes for this week, impressed by Jason's swagger on "Satisfaction," encouraging him with, "They're sing-a-long songs, you gotta have that party vibe going.""Duets" airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC - but Wednesday is a special episode... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/duets-sneak-peek-kelly-clarkson-and-jason-farol-cant-get-no-satisfaction.html
