Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #24 Anime Review

With the girls having made their climb to the summit of Mt .Tanigawa and also having made a friend along the way with Honoka, the last couple of episodes have been fun to watch. The show has worked its balance well in providing climbing episodes alongside character episodes so that we flesh them out in decent, albeit simple, ways that expand on who they are. Adding Honoka to the mix was a nice surprise as I really didn’t expect the group to grow much based on what they do and its source style as well. But Honoka adds a new dynamic to things and it’s also an area where we can see how being friends with a group can help one find their own voice as well, to be a more confident person able to handle things. Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #23 Anime Review

As the series nears its end, there was a lot of simple enjoyment in just getting them going on a climb again, this time at Mt .Tanigawa. That climb went well overall with what they had to deal with outside of Aoi’s hesitation at the cable car. Along the way they ended up meeting another girl that Aoi’s been drawn to, but it’s mostly been used to show a different way at looking at the climb itself. Where it ended up was really nice as they found a refuge in one of the station/huts along the climb as the rain came in and made it unsafe to go further for the moment. The place is definitely appealing as a place to crash and has all the right ambience about it, and some memories too since Aoi and Hinata stayed there as little kids long ago. READ MORE...

Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #22 Anime Review

Getting the girls to Mt. Tanigawa has certainly taken a little bit of time, but it’s been time well spent in getting to know the girls themselves more. And their situations, which have been changing in their own way along the course of the series. I was definitely glad to see more focus on those other than Aoi, but it’s not a surprise to see her turn into the focus once again once they started making their way to the first real bit of climbing on Tanigawa. That mean Aoi had to face her fears with the cable cars, which certainly isn’t easy since a fear of heights, especially in a situation like that with a serious loss of control, is easily panic inducing. But she wants to reach and go further, so she puts forth the effort – with some pulling along from her friends. READ MORE...

Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #21 Anime Review

The series has done some decent character stuff overall with the last few episodes as we’ve gotten focus on most of them to one degree or another while getting some stories of their past, recent and more, that helps to cement who they are now. But with all of that, we’ve had little in the way of real climbing outside of the pleasant stroll with Aoi and Hinata and their parents. With Mt. Tanigawa now being the center of focus, things shift to actually making that climb since they’ve been doing what’s necessary to get ready for it. Silly homework and jobs getting in the way. Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #20 Anime Review

While spending an episode focusing on Aoi and Kaede dealing with summer homework isn’t something that you really want to see a lot of, the show did it in a fun way as it built upon previous events with Aoi, her climbing enthusiasm and her new job in order to pull it together well. There was also some nice further bonding between her and Kaede over it as it went on and some cute little bits with Aoi’s mother, who is one of the more normal and realistic mothers out there in the anime world where mothers tend to simply not exist for the most part. Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #19 Anime Review

The growth of Aoi as a character has been decently done over the course of the series, especially if you include the short form series. With her friendships tested, her climbing ability tested and now having seen her get a job so she can get money to really pursue her enjoyment of climbing, she’s definitely moved into that proper teen category. With some decent things from her friends complementing the growth, as friends are hugely important, it’s worked out well and made her really fun to watch even if in some ways she’s a little bland and a touch of a cipher that makes her accessible to viewers to view the series through her eyes. Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #18 Anime Review

While no real climbing went on the last time around, the show did some fun stuff in giving us a chance to watch the girls at a nature park where they got to enjoy things in a simple way. There was the roundabout way of getting Aoi to deal with the fear of a rope bridge, but it wasn’t the scary Indiana Jones type of rope bridge but almost just bridges in general. It’s hard to say she conquered her fear, but she had friends with her that are trying to help her through it and that’s important. With their plans starting to setting for their next place, they’re also starting to deal with the increased cost of things, which is nice to see coming into play for high school kids as they can’t rely entirely on their parents. Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #17 Anime Review

Aoi’s time after Mt. Fuji has definitely been good to watch as we’ve seen her hit up a couple of very easy climbs in order to just remind herself why she loves all of this. Some she did herself, some had a moment with Hinata, but she also had a semi-family climb with her mother along with Hinata and her father. That’s all worked well to ease us back into things in a natural way rather than just being overdone, such as trying to climb Mt. Fuji again. Now that they’ve decided on Mt. Tanigawa as their next destination, they’re getting in the right mindset for it. But Aoi is still really nervous in a big way about the rope bridge and ski lift, which I certainly can’t blame her for. READ MORE...

Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #16 Anime Review

The series has done the decent mix of the cast overall, though its main focus is on Aoi, and we’ve got a number of episodes recently focusing on her and Hinata a lot. Which is why the focus on Kaede the last time around was nice since it brought out more of why she’s just a bit different from everyone else and how she’s had more of a difficult time in really connecting with others. That reinforces the friendships she has now, but also some of her lone wolf time in going off on adventures by herself because she’s done that for so long. But thankfully, the show knows when to circle around and bring everyone back in the fold. READ MORE...

Encouragement Of Climb Season 2 Episode #15 Anime Review

Getting Aoi and hinata out with their respective parents for a bit of a climb the last time around was definitely welcome. Seeing them doing a small climb with just as much beauty as most of the others as appealing because it reminded you can do these easily and with little real preparation and still have a fantastic experience. It was also refreshing to have some good time with the parents like this and to have a little commentary by them on how their kids are growing and changing into responsible and interesting adults. Small steps, but good and solid steps from them.   Read More... http://www.fandompost.com/2014/12/14/encouragement-of-climb-season-2-episode-15-anime-review/
