A television detective series which is a prequel to the long-running adaptation of Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse novels.
Mid June 1967. Endeavour Morse finds himself occupied with unexpected strife in his personal life - recruited by an old college mentor into investigating matters more suited to private eyes. With change in the air, and a shakeup in Oxford's criminal underworld signalling an uncertain future, the young detective is set on a path that will ultimately lead to heartbreak.
Early June 1967. A missing persons case - that of Danish au pair Ingrid Hjort - proves far from routin, pulling Endeavour into the dueling worlds of Oxford scientific academia, the city's vast parks, Night School and the untamed wilderness of the Oxfordshire countryside.
This is an amazing show! I love British dramas and mysteries, so it was a joy to discover this show. Since British actors seem to be in a tight rotation, I thought I would have come across Shaun Evans before, but he will be on my radar now. Very well written and very picturesque with a dash of puzzling make for a great show. I've never watched Inspector Morse, but after watching this prequel, I may check it out and the sequel Inspector Lewis. Thank goodness they are filming season 3 now and hopefully it will air later this year.
