Extreme Weight Loss Reviews & Ratings

Tuesdays, 9:00 PM ET on ABC

120 minutes

Extreme Weight Loss (previously Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition) documents the radical physical changes of “super obese” people (roughly 200 pounds or more overweight) who set out to lose half their body weight over the course of a full year. Each of the eight one-hour episodes will show a person going through a truly extreme transformation that has never been attempted for a reality TV series: Compressing a year’s worth of diet and exercise into a single hour.

I know these shows are a little shady and many people gain the weight back, but the burgeoning joy in the eyes of the clients at the end of a year and the incredible transformations they go through sure do make for great TV. In addition, Chris is the cutest, sweetest, most genuine trainer you could imagine.

This show is really inspirational, and has helped me lose weight and motivate myself in life. Just don't forget the tissues, because there is no way you're getting through an episode without balling your eyes out!

I would actually go as far as saying that this show represents a big part of the American mentality. I am not talking about the weight problems here, but the idea, that everything is possible for everyone. Shows like this are never as pretty as shown on tv, but the message itself still stays the same. It can be used for inspiration for oneself to remind us, that whatever goal we want to reach, success depends on our choices and hard work and most of all the ability to continute to get up just one more time. I don´t know if the people and stories are all true, but there are people like that out there and the show is a nice way to remember that.

This is an ok show but its too long. I watch the beginning to get the client's story then fast forward to watch the ending to see the results. Don't need so much of the in between stuff.
