Sofia Vergara Lands Guest Spot on Family Guy

Sofia Vergara is heading to Quahog. The Modern Family star — recently named the highest-paid actress on television — will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Family Guy , Entertainment Weekly reports. She will be featured as Peter Griffin's "fantasy love interest" and she'll also have a cameo as a woman selling roses in a restaurant, according to the report.

Elizabeth Banks to Appear on Family Guy Season Premiere

The odds will be ever in Family Guy' s favor this fall. As first reported by Entertainment Weekly , Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks will lend her voice to the Family Guy premiere this fall, coming on board as the wife of Lois' ex-boyfriend, Ross Fishman. Look for her character's family to try and scale Mount Everest. "The Fishmans look down their noses at the Griffins as these slobs," said producer Mark Hentemann. "They’re super successful and they go on the most exotic vacations and they take on the greatest challenges... Peter picks up on his jealousy that he had in season 3 and says, ‘Well, if they’re going to do it, we’re gonna do it - and beat them.’" Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga) will also guest voice on an upcoming installment. TV ratings: '60 Minutes' and 'Family Guy' lead a weak Sunday night

Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 8, 2012A lackluster Sunday in the Nielsen ratings followed its usual pattern. CBS scored the night's biggest total audience thanks to "60 Minutes," and a pair of "Family Guy" reruns on FOX scored the highest adults 18-49 numbers, although ABC led the demographic for the whole night.CBS averaged 5.5 million viewers and a 3.6 rating/6 share in households in primetime. ABC (4.8 million, 3.0/5) finished second, a little bit ahead of NBC (4.5 million, 2.8/5). FOX trailed in viewers, drawing 2.9 million people and a 1.7/3.ABC finished first among adults 18-49 with a 1.4 rating, edging FOX's 1.3. NBC posted a 1.0 in the demo and CBS a 0.7....

However, CBS' "60 Minutes" garnered the most viewers in the 7 p.m. hour.NBC finished with 8.28 million viewers (5.0/9) followed by CBS (5.24 million, 3.5/6), ABC (4.5 million, 2.7/5) and FOX (2.5 million, 1.5/3). For the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC got a 2.5, followed by ABC (1.2), FOX (1.1) and CBS (0.8)....

The folks at "Family Guy" have never been ones ones to err on the side of decorum. And they've done it again, this time while trying to lobby for votes for the 2012 Emmys.In an attempt to secure nods for "Best Comedy," the show recently sent out a mailer featuring Peter Griffin saying, "Come on, you bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews. Let us into your little club." Brentwood is an area of Los Angeles that's home to numerous entertainment industry executives. Inside the mailer, Stewie offers a slightly less combative tone saying, "It's a secret ballot. You can still tell people you voted for 'Modern Family.'"This approach to getting the attention of Emmy voters is nothing new for the animated series. Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 20, 2012The final Sunday of May sweeps was not a banner one for the broadcast networks. The finale of "The Celebrity Apprentice" was down from last year's season ender (but up from recent weeks, at least), and the Billboard Music Awards on ABC also took a tumble from last year's broadcast. The season finales of "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" on FOX were also off compared to a year ago.CBS led the night in total viewers, drawing 11.3 million people and a 7.3 rating/12 share in households. ABC (7 million, 4.2/7) came in second for the night, beating out NBC (5.55 million, 3.5/6). FOX trailed with 4.1 million viewers and a 2.3/4.ABC was the only network to top the 2.0 mark among adults 18-49, finishing the night with a 2.4 in the demographic. FOX took second with a 1.9, followed by NBC, 1.6, and CBS, 1.3....
