Sneak Peeks: Family Guy "It's a Trap!"

On Tuesday, the final Family Guy Star Wars parody will be released on DVD and Blu-ray.  Chances are it will air on FOX at a later date (perhaps as the season finale?), although no official date has been announced yet.  The success of the two previous Star Wars parodies - the second of which aired this past Sunday on FOX - guaranteed that Seth MacFarlane and company were going to parody Return of the Jedi . Scenes from "It's a Trap!" were first shown at Comic Con in July.  I was in the audience and thought the special episode looked hilarious, as most of the other Family Guy Star Wars spoofs have been.  In mid-November we posted a lengthy promo featuring a variety of scenes from the parody. Now MTV has two videos featuring sneak peeks of multiple scenes from the episode.  You can view them below.  Make sure to pick up your copy of "It's a Trap!" on Tuesday, December 21! http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/Uyk4bLnbrgU/42571

'Family Guy's' Seth MacFarlane Talks About 'It's A Trap!', the 'Revenge of the Jedi' Spoof

Seth MacFarlane has a legion of devoted followers, but he takes nothing for granted. When TV Squad asked MacFarlane a week ago about the success of 'Family Guy: It's A Trap!' (his spoof on 'Return of the Jedi'), which comes out on Blu-Ray and DVD on Dec. 21, he carefully replied, "We don't know [it's a success] yet. It could bomb. You never know." Yeah, right. Who doesn't want the highly-anticipated movie as a holiday gift or stocking stuffer? (All three 'Family Guy' 'Star Wars' spoofs are now available, too, on either DVD or Blu-Ray as a boxed set -- 'Laugh It Up Fuzzball: Family Guy Three-Pack.') http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/12/20/family-guy-its-a-trap-revenge-of-the-jedi-spoof/

Family Guy - Trailer for "Return of the Jedi" Parody

Back at Comic Con in July, the Family Guy panel audience members were treated to a fairly lengthy preview from the upcoming Star Wars: Return of the Jedi parody that Family Guy has put together (called "It's a Trap!").  I don't know about the rest of you, but I found the first two Family Guy Star Wars parodies to be very funny.  From what I saw of the third one, it will also have you laughing. Fox will be releasing "It's a Trap!" on DVD on December 21.  Chances are it will air in place of a regular episode of Family Guy at some point next year, as all of the previous Star Wars parodies have.  Below is a short trailer (from Hollywood Reporter), which doesn't actually highlight most of the humor, but it's still enough to get you excited for this. First Look at Last 'Family Guy' Spoof of 'Star Wars'

The "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi!" jab which "Family Guy" would do later this season has been given a preview. The family's matriarch Lois is dressed up in the iconic Princess Leia slave bikini while her son Chris poses as Luke Skywalker beside her. Called "Family Guy: It's a Trap!", the final chapter will follow Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia who must travel to Tatooine to free Han Solo (Peter) by infiltrating the wretched stronghold of Jabba the Hutt (Joe), the galaxy's most loathsome and dreadful gangster. Fox's Big Storm

Fox will kick off May sweeps with a crossover stunt that traps the casts of The Cleveland Show, Family Guy and American Dad inside their homes during a hurricane. Here's the forecast for the 90-minute cartoon disaster: The Cleveland Show The hurricane comes at a very inopportune time for the Browns because they're about to go on a cruise, reveals executive producer Mike Henry. They decide to have a cruise in the house, but that doesn't turn out to be so much fun. Family Guy Cabin fever escalates and Brian decides to use the time to take mushrooms, says executive producer Steve Callaghan. "Stewie has to be his coach and walk him through his trip. You'll see images unlike anything you've ever seen on our show." American Dad We have the burden of going last, so we end up flooding the house and turning it upside down, teases exec producer Mike Barker. "Basically, we're doing The Poseidon Adventure - with a shark loose in the house. Roger's one-night stand ends up caught on the ceiling." Ultimately, the house drifts and ends up in the same neighborhood as the Griffin and Brown homes. And yes, fans will finally get to see the casts of all three shows together as the sun comes out.
