Flashpoint Reviews & Ratings

60 minutes

Flashpoint stars Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars, Just Shoot Me!), Hugh Dillon (Durham County) and Whistler's David Paetkau in a tense, emotional police drama that takes us into the lives of the team members of the Strategic Response Unit (SRU). They're unique cops who can do what ordinary cops can't: rescue hostages, bust gangs, defuse bombs, handle state-of-the-art weaponry, always putting their own lives at stake to save others.

I liked this show. It is high pace and I like how it gives you the last few minutes and then takes you back to what happened to get to that point. I did not know that it was a Canadian show. I think it could have gone for a lot longer but it is only Americans the ones that drag shows to longer seasons, etc.

Had me hooked from the first episode. Very awesome show. Hard-hitting, action-packed, edge-of-your-seat intensity drives the excitement in this thrilling, entertaining coup de force also goes for the heart in each episode. The excitement never lets up throughout the entire run leading to a satisfying ending. All the actors are superb in their craft. Team One is not just a unit, they are a family.

For some people it's hard to take a person's life and I've seen what it can do to you. This show was amazingly accurate and awesome.

This show was surprisingly good! Here's the procedure: Each episode starts with the dictionary definition of the word Flashpoint and then they show the "flashpoint" of that episode, then begins the story from the beginning. Each commercial break show stunning aerial views of the city (just like Blue Bloods!) What is surprising about this show is that each episode contains compelling emotional drama; and the villains are seldom bad people. Oh, and then there is Amy Jo Johnson (the pink Power Ranger) who is an awesome actress and a pretty good singer. Every episode ends with beautiful music, some sung by Amy who even wrote her own song for one episode.

"This is Sergeant Gregory Parker with the Strategic Response Unit.."
You will hear this line in every episode. It's like a switch for all the action. When Greg says those words you can be sure they will do everything to handle the situation right.
This tv show may seem like a boring and poor canadian CSI, but it's not. Nowadays there are a tons of shows like CSI LA or NY, Bones in which we see all those crimes, policemen and explosions. And I like them, but there's something in that one that got me. They were all well trained, they know their place in this team and it works great. Of course if there weren't any problems it would be just boring. They all have problems because they are so dedicated to this job, their family life suffers. It's cool to watch a sniper or a sapper on a job.
I loved how the whole team worked together, how they trusted each other. Well they had to rely one another. There is that one episode where (without spoiling anything) someone wanted to destroy their unit, it was very emotional. In other episode Sgt. Greg was in danger and they had to rescue him. See how that one ended. All the deaths were written very good - and by a well written death I mean it touched me, I was crying me eyes out, I felt it in my heart. There are a lot of scenes where they just act with their eyes, face, gestures and it's so good. Their communcation on screen was strong and real.
What I didn't like in this show was that we only got so little from their personal lives. We didn't really got to know them better. Writers gave us some touching family scenes but I felt like that was not enough for me.
So to conclude it is a very good tv show, I don't regret any minute of watching it. Just remember and beware because the series finale is emotional as hell and you will be crawling on the floor and sobbing.

I don't even know why I liked the show. Because I thought it is just your regular police drama show. But the characters grew on me very much. Very intriguing, gentlemen style and very professional (more or less).
After the show was over I missed the characters as if they were part of my life.
It was really a surprising show for me to like.
