How many "Gleeks" returned for the emotional series finale? The answer is not many. "Glee" went out with a flash-forward that revealed where each person on the show ended up, including a reunion at McKinley High to rename the performance hall the Finn Hudson Memorial Auditorium, in honor of the character that passed away and to acknowledge the late actor Cory Monteith. One might expect many of the millions of fan who once loved the show to tune in and find out what happened to their favorite New Directions members. But while the 2.61 million viewers the series finale averaged were a season high, they still don't come close to what the show was pulling in during the early seasons.RELATED: Revisiting the 'Glee' pilotIn its first three seasons, "Glee" averaged 9.3 million, 11.6 and 7.3 million viewers, respectively. "Glee" decided to say goodbye to its fans by revisiting the past and giving a glimpse into the future lives of the New Directions. The two-hour series finale showed the full spectrum of where the show began to where it ended. The first hour of the finale revisited the "Glee" pilot, but filled in scenes between what was originally shown in 2009. It turns out that Artie (Kevin McHale) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) joined "Glee" as part of a dare -- but it showed sides of themselves to each other they hadn't seen before. Mercedes (Amber Riley) was just as ambitious as Rachel (Lea Michele).RELATED: Jane Lynch and Lea Michele are done with McKinley HighMost importantly, it was Finn (Cory Monteith) that kept the glee club together in its early days. What have six seasons of "Glee" meant to Lea Michele and Jane Lynch?Clearly, the FOX show has been a career changer for both actresses. Michele's role as Ohio high-school glee-club member (and, later, mentor) Rachel Berry has done much to make her an author, recording artist and cosmetics spokesperson. And Lynch's portrayal of ever-scheming gym teacher turned principal Sue Sylvester has earned her an Emmy, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ... and even her wax likeness at Hollywood's Madame Tussauds.Along with the other cast regulars including fellow founding members Chris Colfer (alias Kurt Hummel) and Matthew Morrison (Will "Mr. Schue" Schuester), they bid farewell to "Glee" as the trendsetting FOX musical drama airs its two-hour series finale Friday (March 20). For Michele and Lynch alike, the occasion draws mixed emotions."I've talked to Chris about taking a walk through the set, just the two of us," Michele told Zap2it in a chat shortly... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/VliLzz4DuoY/glee_series_finale_lea_michele_jane_lynch_done_with_mckinley_high-2015-03
