'Grey's Anatomy' déjà vu: Creator clears up recycled footage controversy

Nothing gets by the eagle eyes and deep memories of "Grey's Anatomy" fans, so when the ABC show apparently used "love scene" footage from a previous season in the March 24 episode, hardcore fans cried foul and demanded answers."It was not a love scene, it was a shot," creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes explains to TVLine.com of the reused footage.Rhimes says that the episode needed another beat with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey), but the two were unavailable to shoot it at the time. "We would've had to drag them [back to the set] from places we couldn't drag them in from to do one shot," she says.Rhimes decided to insert the shot from Season 5 (we believe, but we're sure you'll correct us) and says that isn't strange in the "Grey's" world."We've used the shot of Derek standing on the catwalk from the pilot like 700 times," she explains. "It was just a shot. I... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/greys-anatomy-deja-vu-creator-clears-up-recycled-footage-controversy.html

Will Callie Lose the Baby on Grey's Anatomy?

Grey's Anatomy has played the miscarriage card before. Is Callie headed for a similar tragedy in the wake of the car accident that set the stage for this week's episode? Obviously, the question of whether her unborn child with Mark will survive the accident is a major question of the musical event that has been hyped for weeks on end. Will Callie and the baby make it? Here's what Sara Ramirez had to say: Sara in the studio prepping for her biggest episode yet . "Maybe Callie getting pregnant with Mark's child isn't really an accident in the bigger picture," the Tony winner teased to TV Guide . "This child may teach Callie, Arizona, and Mark something they had no idea they needed to learn and grow from." What do you think she means by that? Will tragedy strike? Or will they all come out of this fine, with a renewed commitment to their unconventional family unit? Comments and theories are welcomed below ... http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/will-callie-lose-the-baby-on-greys-anatomy/

Why Did Grey's Anatomy Recycle a MerDer Shot?

With a sharply trained eye, Grey's Anatomy fans, you may have caught that, in the montage at the end of last week's episode, the shot of MerDer snuggling up under the covers looked a little familiar. It turns out that's because Shonda Rhimes recycled the clip from an earlier episode. Cue fan outrage. Did she think we wouldn't notice?! We're insulted. But worry not, fans. Shonda assures us she'd never recycle a story.First of all, Shonda defends to TV Line, "It was not a love scene, it was a shot."... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/IRqNdL88GKs/why-did-greys-anatomy-recycle-a-merder-shot

Spoiler: Which Grey's Couple Might Have a Surprise Pregnancy?

Earlier this season, Kevin McKidd dished that Owen and Cristina's relationship was up for some drama ahead. Everyone assumed it would be over baby fever striking Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and (obviously) not Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), but we now know it's actually because Owen has been chosen to pick the Chief Resident, which his wifey is in the running for. Quite the conflict of interests there, Dr. Hunt.Buuut, on second thought, McKidd told E! Online that a surprise pregnancy for Owen and Cristina... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/xuEscuzs8dI/spoiler-which-greys-couple-might-have-a-surprise-pregnancy

Grey's Anatomy Season Finale to Focus on Three Characters

This year's Grey's Anatomy season finale will be different. Creator Shonda Rhimes has promised this. Unlike May 2010's epic finale, which had a profound impact on everyone at Seattle Grace, the ending to the seventh season will be quieter, only one hour long and focused on three original characters. You're looking at one of them right here ... http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/greys-anatomy-season-finale-to-focus-on-three-characters/

The video above will expire on April 1 There's no way around the fact that the "Grey's Anatomy" music event airing on Thursday (March 31) on ABC is going to be a tough one for fans."The last episode ended in a very big way with Arizona asking Callie to marry her while they're in a car," creator Shonda Rhimes, who also wrote this episode, tells ET. "And then in the very last moment is a car crash and we pick up after the impact of that crash."Subsequently, Callie (Sara Ramirez) gets horribly injured in the accident when she flies through the windshield. On the Set of Grey's Anatomy: The Musical

If last season's bullet-riddled finale didn't teach you that lives on Grey's Anatomy can change in a heartbeat, then get ready for another harrowing reminder — this time with a fun, whimsical twist. I was on set for a preview of the special March 31 episode, in which a crisis unfolds involving five-months pregnant Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and we're taken on a musical head trip through the doctor's mind. It's a clever device that allows most of the cast, plus guest star Kate Walsh, to break into song. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Anatomy-Musical-1031212.aspx?rss=breakingnews
