'Happy Endings' star Adam Pally is offering free car rides, Dakota Fanning

For those of you who watch Adam Pally on "Happy Endings," you probably find he's very funny as Max, the Nerf-gun shooting, perpetually pajama-clad couch potato fielding accusations of chubbiness from his friends. And for those of you who caught Adam Pally drunkenly live tweet a cross-country flight with Tim Robbins, you probably find he's also very funny as Adam Pally. Zap2it spoke with Pally after the show's recent pick-up, and in addition to getting his take on this season's odd episode chronology, we talked about the NBC pilot he can no longer star in ("BFF"), a summer he hopes to spend enjoying Magnum bars with Rachel Bilson and dream guests for his web series "Riding Shotgun With Adam Pally."Congratulations on the renewal. Did you guys think that was in the cards? It's awesome. I don't want to say "expecting" because you never know the way TV goes, but I think we felt confident in the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/happy-endings-star-adam-pally-is-offering-free-car-rides-dakota-fanning.html

'Happy Endings' creator David Caspe and star Adam Pally explain the Season 1 episode shuffle

We have not been shy in expressing our joy at the renewal of ABC's "Happy Endings." But there's even better news. This season still has three new episodes. But as fans or casual viewers of the series may notice, both May 18 episodes ("Bo Fight" and "Barefoot Pedaler") are a little out of place -- which makes sense, because they were intended to air immediately after the pilot.Zap2it spoke with creator David Caspe after last week's renewal, and in addition to discussing the series' growing popularity and Season 2, we asked him about the change. "We shot a couple of early episodes that had a little bit to do with the aftermath of the break-up," he says of characters Dave (Zach Knighton) and Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), who kicked off the pilot with an unsuccessful wedding. "People will get a look into what happened to the friends the weeks following the breakup."These two aren't the first to... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/happy-endings-creator-david-caspe-and-adam-pally-explain-the-season-1-episode-shuffle.html

'Happy Endings' Creator David Caspe Talks Weddings, Gay Characters & His Plans for Season 2

We love stories with 'Happy Endings,' and showrunner David Caspe should be very happy indeed, given that his freshman comedy was officially renewed for a full second season (22 episodes) at ABC's Upfronts presentation yesterday. As one of the last comedies standing on what began as a crowded playing field last September, 'Endings' quickly separated itself from the sitcom pack as a midseason replacement, managing to make an impact with only 12 episodes as others fell by the wayside. Earlier this week, AOL TV caught up with Caspe to hear his reaction on the renewal, his plans for next season and what fans can expect from the remaining three episodes. ( Tread carefully, there are vague spoilers for the season finale at the bottom of the interview.) http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/18/happy-endings-david-caspe-interview-season-two/

'Happy Endings' creator David Caspe on Season 2 renewal: 'Very aware that it does not usually go this way'

A modest ratings performer that premiered quite late in the season, "Happy Endings" seemed like a long shot for a Season 2 renewal. But the freshman comedy was one of the few "bubble" series on ABC to get good news when the network started handing out orders and cancellations on May 13. Zap2it spoke with creator David Caspe just after he received confirmation of the renewal (he hadn't even called his mother), and he told us about the good fortune that's followed the show since its inception."We just didn't know," he says of the wait for a renewal. "It's so not in our control. It's a business decision and a creative decision up to... not me. If it was up to me and my mom, we'd get the pick-up no problem."At the time we spoke with him, Caspe had not been told what the pick-up entails. "We don't know when or how many or anything,"... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/happy-endings-creator-david-caspe-on-season-2-renewal-very-aware-that-it-does-not-usually-go-this-wa.html

Let's Hear It for Happy Endings

A grower more than shower, Happy originally failed to wow the masses when it debuted amid a schedule already crowded with Friends -like ensembles ( Perfect Couples , Mad Love , Traffic Light ) that all felt the same. But as the weeks have passed, so too has the feeling that we're watching a cookie-cutter comedy. The dialogue is snappy and hip ("shut your whore mouth" is a keeper), the cast is charming, and, for a certain demographic, the characters are the kind you look forward to spending time with...  http://www.tvguide.com/News/Watercooler-Lets-Hear-1032992.aspx?rss=breakingnews

TV ratings: 'American Idol' final four, 'Modern Family,' 'Criminal Minds' all up Wednesday

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 11, 2011"American Idol's" ratings bounced back some on Wednesday, leading FOX to its usual spot at the top of the leader board. Viewing was up elsewhere too, as most of ABC's comedies and CBS' "Criminal Minds" also improved on last week's performance.FOX delivered 18.7 million viewers and an 11.1 rating/17 share in households for the night. CBS (10.9 million, 7.0/11) came in second, a good distance ahead of ABC (6.2 million, 4.0/6). NBC (4.85 million, 3.1/5) finished fourth. The CW (1.6 million, 1.1/2) was up slightly over last week too.FOX dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 5.8 rating, more than doubling the 2.8 average for No. 2 CBS. ABC took third in the demo with a 2.3, followed by NBC, 1.5, and The CW, 0.7.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/tv-ratings-american-idol-final-four-modern-family-criminal-minds-all-up-wednesday.html

Is 'Happy Endings' More Modern Than 'Modern Family'?

Fair warning: I'm about to hit you with an unpopular opinion. And though I challenge the assertion that an unpopular opinion even exists on the Internet, overzealous melting pot of ideas and ideologies that it is, this disclaimer is my paltry attempt to avoid a comments section full of vitriol, mud-slinging and CAPS LOCK abuse. Because what I'm about to say certainly flies in the face of critical consensus. So, Unpopular Opinion Alert : Not only do I think that ABC's midseason comedy, 'Happy Endings,' is funnier than 'Modern Family' (and a great majority of other comedies on air this year, for that matter), I also believe that it is a more accurate, modern representation of Western life than the show with 'Modern' in its title. http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/11/is-happy-endings-more-modern-than-modern-family/
