If you're a Stephen King fan, you might be tuning in to watch Haven on SyFy last night. If you aren't a King fan and are going to watch, you probably didn't know that Haven is based off one of Stephen King's novels. The novel is one of his smaller ones, actually - it has nowhere near the recognition of King's other recent works, like Duma Key or Under the Dome. It's a little novel called The Colorado Kid, and it originally didn't have anything supernatural about it. That's what made it one of King's more unique works - unlike his other works, which included everything from parallel worlds to aliens to living cars, The Colorado Kid was a straight crime novel - no monsters, no supernatural, nothing. Haven is just the opposite. So what caused the change in the content of The Colorado Kid to Haven? To Read More Click here .

Haven, Syfy's new supernatural detective drama, makes its debut this Friday, and the channel is doing everything they can to show that their original series is worth a look. The thriller is loosely based on the Stephen King mystery novella, The Colorado Kid, but the show's creators have opted to ditch traditional cop drama conventions and instead give the townspeople of Haven a wide range of supernatural abilities. The first season will follow FBI agent Audrey Parker, played by Emily Rose (ER), as she arrives in Haven and begins to discover that everything is not as it seems in the quaint seaside community. IGN participated in a conference call in which the series' stars, Rose and Lucas Bryant ("Nathan Wournos"), and executive producing team Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst (The Dead Zone) sat down to shed some light on Haven. Having a project with the Stephen King label attached to it brings its own set of heightened expectations. Sam Ernst, who scripted the pilot with Jim Dunn, explained their approach to the King material. To Read More Click Here .
