NCIS: LA Producer Speaks on Hawaii Five-0 Crossover

Daniela Ruah's recently-announced crossover to Hawaii Five-0 did not take much convincing. NCIS: Los Angeles creator Shane Brennan says it was an easy decision for the actress, and for himself, to loan special agent Kensi Blye to a case that finds her working closely with the team on Five-0 . "The opportunity popped up and we said, ‘That’s great; let’s do it.’ Those things happen without a lot of planning," he said, adding that Ruah had never been to Hawaii and therefore jumped at the chance. Spoiler alert: McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) won't be in prison for all of Season 2 of "Hawaii Five-0."So, OK, you probably had figured that already. The photo above does, in fact, show McGarrett incarcerated, complete with orange jumpsuit, in the premiere episode, "Ha'i'ole" ("Unbreakable"). But considering that the network has already released photos of McGarrett out in the field, it's not a big leap to say Steve will be back in action by episode 2. CBS also released an episode description for the premiere on Thursday (Aug. 19). It reads: "While McGarrett sits in prison awaiting trial for the murder of the governor, Danny [Scott Caan] brings him a surprise visitor to help clear him. Meanwhile, Kono [Grace Park] is suspended for the force, pending an internal investigation." We're guessing the "surprise visitor" is Terry O'Quinn's character, Steve's former SEAL instructor. He's listed in the guest cast, along with the new governor (Richard T. Jones).
