Heavy Object

30 minutes

In the future, the development of massive war machines called Objects have rendered conventional warfare and even tactical nuclear weapons seemingly obsolete. As a consequence of this military upheaval, all of the nations of the world have fractured into four coalitions which constantly wage war on each other; the "Legitimate Kingdom", focused on tradition; the "Capitalist Corporation"(in the anime the "Capitalist Enterprise"), which values profit; the "Information Alliance"(in the anime the "Intelligence Union"), focused on knowledge; and the "Faith Organization", which values religion above everything else. With the perception that only Objects can destroy Objects, modern warfare is reduced to duels between Objects, resulting in shorter, cleaner, and safer wars. However, this all changes when two regular soldiers from the Legitimate Kingdom, Qwenthur Barbotage and Havia Winchell, use their smarts and ingenuity to destroy the "Water Strider" Object of the Faith Organization all by themselves. Having proven that Objects created by man can also be destroyed by man, Qwenthur and Havia are thrown into a new world of harrowing adventures and dangerous suicide missions while together with Qwenthur befriending and saving the Legitimate Kingdom's elite Melinda Brantini, of the Object the "Baby Magnum".

While trying to stop Milinda, Qwenthur and Havia's vehicle is hit by stray fire, leaving Qwenthur critically wounded. They are both recovered by the Intelligence Union and have their wounds treated. Qwenthur then warns them about the Mirror of Truth, and convinces Ohoho to help him save Milinda. Frolaytia warns Qwenthur that her superiors have declared that the Baby Magnum has gone rogue, and will allow the Faith Organization and Capital Enterprise Objects to intervene to destroy it. Needing to find a way to deal enough damage to Baby Magnum to force Milinda to eject while at the same time not completely destroying it, Qwenthur lures Baby Magnum into the line of fire of one of Baby Magnum's spare cannons, which fires a shell full of CVD particles. The particles foul the barrels of Baby Magnum's cannons, causing them to explode and forcing Milinda to eject, breaking the brainwashing on her. Afterwards, Qwenthur, Havia, and Milinda celebrate their victory by going on vacation together. However, Honeysuckle warns Charlotte that the organization that targeted Qwenthur will only see him as a bigger threat to their plans now.

Heavy Object is a really solid action anime. It's funny, the plot's enjoyable/easy to follow, and the battle sequences look spectacular.
