Gordon Ramsay has picked the new winner of "Hell's Kitchen". Nona Sivley, a mother of one from Texas, won over Russell Kook in the one-hour finale to cook a five-course meal judged by Los Angeles' notable foodies. Sivley created a Southern-inspired menu and impressed the judges. She was the contestant whose door was unlocked, allowing her to walk through to a podium filled cheering crowd including her husband and son. As the winner of eighth season, Sivley is to take the head chef position at LA Market in the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. Plus, she would be the official spokesperson of Rosemount Estate Wines. Knives were drawn during Hell's Kitchen grand finale as last night's competition came down to two contestants, Nona Sivley and Russell Kook. Backed up by several former teammates, the chefs dueled over Season Eight's final dining service. The stakes were high with the winner to score the head chef position at LA Market Restaurant at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live, a one-year gig that comes with a hefty $250,000 paycheck, and the role of official spokesperson for Rosemount Estate Wines. On the season 8 finale of 'Hell's Kitchen' (Wed., 9PM ET on FOX), Russell Kook and Nona Sivley competed at LA Market, with former contestants serving as kitchen and wait staff. The winner (of Gordon Ramsay's choosing, of course) would become head chef at the restaurant, as well as a spokesperson for Rosemount Estate Wines. Kook and Sivley each stood in front of a door, and the door that opened would reveal the winner. Ramsay counted to three... Sivley became the eighth 'HK' winner. Tonight was the end of the longest season in Hell's Kitchen history. It felt like that, didn't it? Luckily the producers decided to spare us with any more suspense by delivering a one-hour finale that kept moving at a decent clip. Speaking of clips, that's how it all began, with a quick look back at the highlights of the season, which actually matched many of those we featured here yesterday . The fights. Raj. The raw food. Raj and more Raj and then it was on menu planning and a final meet-up with Chef Ramsay. Russell was pensive and anxious to get on with it, but Nona couldn't contain her joy, especially when she realized they were going for a ride in a helicopter. Ramsay said it was a tour of the city that one of them would soon call home, but it was actually a lift to the site of their next challenge -- a head-to-head duel judged by some of the biggest names in the biz.
