TV ratings: 'Surviving Jack' premiere soft; CBS wins with Sweet 16 NCAA games

Fast National ratings for Thursday, March 27, 2014The NCAA tournament on CBS saw a rise from the round of 64 games, earning an average of nearly 4 million more viewers than last week, though ABC's "Scandal" was still the top show of the night by a slim margin in total viewers and a wider margin in the adults 18-49 demo.Elsewhere, "Surviving Jack" did not have an overly strong premiere on FOX, losing 2.8 million viewers from its "American Idol" lead-in. On NBC, despite two hours of reruns preceding it, "Parenthood" posted its best numbers since early October. The Sweet 16 games on CBS earned the Eye a win in total viewers, averaging 7.8 million and a 5.0 rating/8 share in households. TV ratings: 'Scandal' leads Thursday as 'American Idol' and NCAA tournament fall

Fast National ratings for Thursday, March 20, 2014CBS' first night of NCAA tournament coverage was down a good amount from the same night last year, dropping CBS to third place in viewers and adults 18-49 for the night. ABC's "Scandal" claimed the top spot for the night as it improved a bit on last week. So did "Grey's Anatomy."Also Thursday, "American Idol" dipped a little from last week's results show for FOX. "Community" and "Parks and Recreation" ticked up for NBC, as did "The Vampire Diaries" and "Reign" on The CW.FOX (6.83 million viewers, 4.2/7 households) edged ABC (6.8 million, 4.7/8) for the lead in total viewers in primetime. CBS came in third with 3.75 million viewers and a 2.5/4, pending updates for its live NCAA telecast. Thursday nights are going to look a different on NBC, post-Winter Olympics."Hollywood Game Night" will be taking up residence on the network's troubled night, resuming Season 2 on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET.Of course, this new time slot for the Jane Lynch-hosted game show means that (essentially canceled) "Sean Saves the World" and "The Michael J. NBC’s ‘Hollywood Game Night’ Gets New Night & Time

NBC has given  Hollywood Game Night  a new night and time. The network plans to air the celebrity game show’s second season on Thursdays at 9/8c. The Jane Lynch hosted series is currently on hiatus and will return to air on Feb. 27. The move comes after NBC announced its plans to halt production on the struggling new comedy ‘Sean Saves the World’ with Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) and ‘The Michael J. Fox Show’ which was cancelled this week with seven unaired episodes still in the can. The network has yet to announce if they plan to remain the unaired episodes.
