After living in South Carolina for a couple years, Michelle and Mark Bartram decided to move their family of four back to a more metropolitan lifestyle in Bethesda, Md., which is just outside of Washington, D.C. They are renting a two-bedroom, two-bath Colonial with a large backyard that requires a lot of raking. There's also a basement area for their two boys' toys, but the rest of the house is just too small. They are hoping to find a house with a lot more elbow room, a large kitchen and a low-maintenance backyard in this very competitive market. Real estate agent Meg Crowlie signs on to help them plant some permanent roots.
