Cristin Milioti on How I Met Your Mother, The Wolf of Wall Street, and ‘Sexy Baby Voice’

In playing How I Met Your Mother 's titular mother, Cristin Milioti had a hard task in front of her: satisfy millions of fans who've spent eight seasons imagining a character whose reveal is the very point of the show. If she hadn't proven herself already, Milioti sure did in last week's episode, a big one for getting to know the future Mrs. Mosby. (Her first name is still a mystery. Guessing is a HIMYM tradition.) Vulture spoke to Milioti — whose previous roles include the Tony-nominated lead in Broadway's Once ; the baby-voiced Abby Flynn on 30 Rock ; and Jordan Belfort's first wife in The Wolf of Wall Street — about her ukulele performance, EGOTs, and, oddly enough, time-traveling Susan B. Anthony.  Read More... http://www.vulture.com/2014/02/how-i-met-your-mother-cristin-milioti-interview.html

'How I Met Your Mother' spoilers: Robin ranks Ted's exes in 'Sunrise'

brightcove.createExperiences();At "How I Met Your Mother's" final TCA press tour session in mid-January, co-creator Craig Thomas noted that a bunch of former recurring guest stars would return before the series ends in March. What he didn't say was that a very large chunk of them would all show up in Monday's (Feb. 3) episode, "Sunrise." But a lot -- no, really, a lot -- of familiar faces will be back.At the end of the previous, Mother-centric episode, a still-drunk Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) snuck out of Ted's (Josh Radnor) hotel room while Ted was on the balcony listening to his future wife (Cristin Milioti) sing "La Vie en Rose." In "Sunrise," Ted and Robin (Cobie Smulders) go out in search of the missing groom, only to wind up talking about reminiscing about his past girlfriends, as you can see in the video above. It's not just talk, either. Ashley Williams (Victoria) and Abby Elliott (Jeanette)... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/how-i-met-your-mother-spoilers-robin-ranks-teds-exes-in-sunrise.html

'How I Met Your Dad': Meet the characters of the 'How I Met Your Mother' spinoff

Some details about "How I Met Your Mother's" spinoff "How I Met Your Dad" have leaked, and it's safe to say "HIMYM" fans will recognize their show in the new one. What they won't see, though, is simply a gender-reversed copy of the original show. 'How Your Mother Met Me': 'How I Met Your Mother' turns the tables, and it's great

The 200th episode of "How I Met Your Mother" focused almost solely on the Mother -- down to the opening credits, which retitled the show "How Your Mother Met Me." A lot of things could have gone wrong with the episode -- and a couple did -- but thanks to a knockout performance from Cristin Milioti, it worked really well. The biggest potential pitfall lay in depicting Ted and the Mother's near-misses as just a series of zany coincidences, a low-rent "Sliding Doors" that invested no emotional weight in the Mother's story. Fortunately, that didn't happen, and we learned a great deal about the Mother and why she is where she is in the process. It can't be said enough how well Milioti handled the emotional scenes, particularly the moment where she asked her late boyfriend if it would be OK to let him go, finally, nearly eight years after his death. Coupled with her performance of... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/how-your-mother-met-me-how-i-met-your-mother-turns-the-tables-and-its-great.html

'How I Met Your Mother': The yellow umbrella returns in 'How Your Mother Met Me'

The 200th episode of "How I Met Your Mother" will take a trip down memory lane -- although for once, it's not relying on Ted's memory.Monday's (Jan. 27) show, "How Your Mother Met Me," will follow the Mother (Cristin Milioti) and see what she's been up to for the past eight years -- including a few times she almost crossed paths with her future husband, Ted (Josh Radnor). "Cristin is amazing in it, and there are a lot of fun intersections between her life and our gang," co-creator Craig Thomas says. "So our gang is in that episode, but really it's her episode, and I feel that kicks off the endgame of the season and the series where you're going to see more of her and Ted and learn more about them." Among the near misses in Monday's show is a flashback to Season 3's "No Tomorrow," where Ted has a disaster of a night... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/how-i-met-your-mother-the-yellow-umbrella-returns-in-how-your-mother-met-me.html
