'How I Met Your Mother' creator: 'The less we say about the finale, the better'

Boy meets girl; boy marries girl; boy and girl have a boy and girl; boy tells his boy and girl how he met his girl.In a nutshell, that's the premise of the CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother," which ends after nine seasons with a one-hour series finale on Monday (March 31).If all goes as fans hope, by the time the last credits roll, New York architect Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) will at long last lock eyes -- and who knows, maybe even lips -- with "The Girl With the Yellow Umbrella" (Cristin Milioti), his future wife and the Mother of the title. They've already seen retired playboy Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) exchange vows with news anchor Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Ted's ex-girlfriend. Signs also point to Marshall and Lily (Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan), Ted's longtime pals continuing to be the adorable couple they've always been.Carter Bays, who co-created and executive produces the show... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/how-i-met-your-mother-creator-the-less-we-say-about-the-finale-the-better.html

How I Met Your Mother: How It Broke the Mold — and How Will It All End?

Like the year in which Future Ted is recounting his stories, How I Met Your Mother may have been a little ahead of its time. "I think [that] the best format for this series is ultimately as a download or a DVD — a binge-watch," co-creator and executive producer Carter Bays tells TVGuide.com. "I think we should've been on Netflix," co-creator and executive producer Craig Thomas quips. "Maybe people wouldn't have been as upset at us. We could've been the first House of Cards !"  Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/News/How-I-Met-Your-Mother-HIMYM-Series-Finale-1079808.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'How I Met Your Mother' cast on 'Inside the Actors Studio' answer questions in character

Before "How I Met Your Mother" airs its series finale, the cast sat down with James Lipton for an "Inside the Actors Studio" episode. It was poignant and funny, as each cast member chose his or her favorite scene in the history of the show -- "Suits" (NPH), the two-minute date (Radnor), the bangity-bang song (Smulders), Marshall's father's death (Hannigan) and the cock-a-mouse (Segel), in case you were wondering -- but the highlight was the actors showing off their talents by answering questions off-the-cuff in character. The best bon mots:Lipton: "Your friend Ted has described you as a sociopath, is that true?"Barney: "What does 'sociopath' mean again?"Lipton: "Ted?"Ted: "Well, it's interesting because the derivation, it changed around 1863 -- [raucous laughter and applause]."Lipton: "What is the Playbook?"Barney: "That was a book in my days, back in my young (awesome!) days where I had different ways to get dirty.
