How I Met Your Mother Reviews & Ratings

30 minutes

Taking place in a continual flashback narrated by the future Ted (Bob Saget) telling the story of the erstwhile Ted's (Josh Radnor) love life, How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about five friends living in New York City. The colorful cast of characters includes the sweet but boring couple, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel); the ex-love and Canadian, Robin (Cobie Smulders); and the fan-favorite sex addict, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris).

A lot of people didn't like the way this show ended, but I wholeheartedly disagree. They didn't like Ted's ending, but I loved it. I loved the way they strung us along for SO long, telling all those random stories, because the final season and the final story wouldn't mean nearly as much without all those other stories for us to base our knowledge of our "friends" on. Great show.

A typical sitcom with its own brand of humour that sparked a major following much dedicated to the brash behaviour of a couple of the characters. This investment in the unique humour carried fans through the plot from a promising beginning to a puttered out and over extended ending. Ultimately a funny show, but one which dragged on for much too long.

A fantastic show that kept me distracted from work for many hours, it has been comedy gold since the very beginning, Ted has at times been a source of irritation however due to the constant repetition of his actions.
The climactic season 9 was a great season as it counted down to the wedding, but after Ted met his wife the story should have ended there. The stories about Ted's wife dying and the group were a let down, in an entire story dedicated to meeting the mother having an ending *SPOILER ALERT* where she ends up dead and he tries to get with someone else? Not cool, and not to mention that Barney reverts to his old ways after he gets divorced, only to magically change when he finds that he now has a child? What were they thinking?
All in all the entire series was fantastic, but the ending? Well, that was tragically done. My suggestion is to watch it all and don't watch the entire ending, wait until Ted meet's the mother, AND LEAVE IT THERE!
