Boy Crazy Stacey winds up supporting next-big-thing Akimbo, but despite Nash’s humiliation he manages to turn it into a great gig. They are later approached by an erratic, aging rocker, Andy Bang, who talks up his independent record label – does BCS want to sign up with him? Everyone’s a bit dubious but Andy lures them back to his studio with the offer of some cheeky substance abuse. To the surprise of all, Andy’s studio is amazing and it’s not long before high-as-a-kite Nash promises to sign with Andy. As they all decide to head back to the Annandale to keep partying, Nash faces one major problem - he still has to convince the rest of the band. Comet seems keen, but after a run-in with his taciturn father, Luke seems more concerned with getting wasted than record deals. And conscientious manager Jasper, abstaining from the drug-taking, doesn’t trust Andy. Meanwhile, Jane and Val, who have suffered through a mediocre headline gig, have mixed feelings about the news of BCS’s imminent record deal. Jane offers to help Nash find the right label, as a jealous Val gets in Andy’s ear, trying to undermine the BCS deal. Nash gets Comet to sign the contract, but he’s so out of it that when she propositions him he completely misses it. A completely wasted Luke signs as well. After a very strange strategy meeting with Andy Bang in the men’s toilets, Nash decides there’s only one way to get Jasper to sign – he needs to get him wasted.
