Here's the Situation: A record-setting 5.3 million viewers tuned in to the Season 2 premiere of MTV's Jersey Shore. That's up a staggering 280 percent over December's series opener, according to the network. Thursday's 10 p.m. episode, which saw Snooki, JWOWW and the crew relocate to Miami Beach, Fla., also ranks as the year's most-watched basic cable telecast among 12-34-year-old viewers, MTV's target demographic. Jersey Shore's second season debut also delivered MTV's most-watched season premiere since the sophomore season launch of The Osbournes in 2002. Source Here
Angelina left 'Jersey Shore' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV) early on in the first season. This time around, she's "trying to be classy." Um, you picked the wrong show. They've relocated to Miami, but some things never change. When the ladies are all shoved into the back of a cab, Angelina says, "I left because I loved a guy, and you guys can't understand that." Sammi replies, "Who gives a [beep] about you leaving, honestly." The confrontation quickly spirals, and all four women contribute much cussing, screaming, finger pointing, and flailing of arms to the proceedings. Trash talk includes dissing Angelina for being from Staten Island and calling her a pale "white rat." Ah, welcome back, Angelina. Source & Video
As has been noted by Gov. Chris Christie, among others, much of the cast of MTV's watercooler smash doesn't hail from New Jersey. At least Season 1 was shot in Seaside Heights, but in a rush to get the show back on the air before Snooki & Co.'s 15 minutes of infamy run out, Season 2 opens with the gang fleeing the snowy Northeast for Miami Beach (or "the MIA," which, as the Situation helpfully explains, "means Miami"). The absurdity of a show called Jersey Shore filming in Florida reminds one of Reno 911!: Miami, only this time the humor is unintentional, like when Snooki says of hand-washing Sammi Sweetheart's drink-stained shorts, "I feel like a pilgrim from the friggin' '20s."
