LIFE UNEXPECTEDLUX GETS SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL When Lux (Britt Robertson) gets suspended from school, Cate (Shiri Appleby) does her best to convince Principal Dugan (guest star Merrilyn Gann, Everwood ) to give Lux a second chance, but, unfortunately, her efforts may have made the situation considerably worse for Lux. As Cate on Life Unexpected, Shiri Appleby says she's landed her dream role. In a new interview with TV Guide, the actress speaks on her character's love triangle, as well as what viewers can expect on the rest of season one... On Cate/Baze/Ryan: "She's got such an interesting triangle on her hands. Does she choose the guy that's calm and stable and sort of the voice of reason? And with the other one, the question is, is it possible to find your soul mate and do you really find him at winter formal having sex in the back of a minivan? I think the whole season she struggles." On upcoming Life Unexpected spoilers, developments: "Lux has a lot of anger toward Cate that she led the life that she did, and Cate feels a lot of guilt and remorse about that, so they go through a whole roller coaster of emotions about that together." On Cate's family: "Later in the season we meet my father, my mom's been married five times, my sister and I have this weird competitive thing, and as the season goes on you realize that Cate just totally shut down the day that she had to give Lux up for adoption." We don't know how the bong will come into play here since Lux (Britt Robertson) already sold it to one of her little high school playmates on the last episode, but from the title alone, it sounds like it's going to caues some trouble. On the next episode of Life Unexpected, Lux starts to try to adjust to her new school. And what's the best way to get used to her new environment? Get suspended of course. Dutifully, Cate (Shiri Appleby) comes over and does her best to convince Principal Dugan (guest star Merrilyn Gann) to give Lux a second chance, but ends up making things worse. Elsewhere on "Bong Intercepted" Cate and Ryan (Kristoffer Polaha) host an event called Drink-a-Date. Complications arise when the venue was raided by the police after an anonymous tip that the bar sold liquors to minors. Enter Baze to the rescue, whose bar is right across the street. Catch the promos after the jump. A little word of caution, though: not exactly family-friendly as Life Unexpected is advertised. Source & Video
After meeting Lux's (Britt Robertson) "family" in episode 2, we move on to Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Baze's (Kristoffer Polaha) families in episode 3 of Life Unexpectedly. On "Rent Uncollected" Baze tells his parents about Lux, and they insist on planning a dinner to meet her. Cate, as the mother, is dragged to the dinner party, reluctantly, and is further annoyed when her "boozy" mother and "crazy" (therapist and part-time yoga teacher) sister show up unexpectedly. As for Lux, Cate hears about a gang fight at her school, so she immediately transfers her to Westmonte, her and Baze's alma matter. Source & Preview

On Life Unexpected, you never really thought it was happy ending already for Lux (Brittany Robertson), do you? Tonight on the charming CW show, her little foster days friends visit her and her - gasp - boyfriend Bug (guest star Rafi Gayron) and best friend Natasha (guest star Ksenia Solo) are of the opinion that Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) may not be in for the long haul, so Lux should just return to her old life and the people she has grown up with. Why her boyfriend wasn't with her when all the filing for emancipation stuff was happening, we're not so sure. Elsewhere on the second episode of Life Unexpected called "Home Inspected" a social worker visits the former high school sweet hearts to ascertain if they are fit to become parents (so right off the bat, you know this episode won't go well). As if that isn't bad enough, Cate is under pressure from executives at the radio station to deny that she has a daughter to save her job. We heard Cate's decision will shock us all. The critically loved pilot of Life Unexpected introduced us to recently turned 16 Lux, bounced off foster homes for the most part of her life and too wise-cracking and witty for her age. On a mission to get emancipated, she searched for her birth parents, who'd turn out to be not-so-mature themselves. Things turned weird when the judge in charge of Lux's case granted Cate and Baze joint custody, so they have to make things work. They do, as far as the tail-end of the last episode was concerned, and they threw Lux a birthday party. Oh, and there's also a love triangle brewing, because Cate slept with Baze, but Cate has a fiance, her radio talk show co-host Ryan (Kerr Smith), who is not bad-looking at all. Whenever a new show premieres, audiences tend to pick out the couple that's meant to be together. On Life Unexpected, it's easy to choose Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) as soul mates because they have a child together, but executive producer Liz Tigelaar doesn't quite agree. Tigelaar discussed the story behind the new CW series, what's next for the relationships on Life, and what we'll learn about Lux (Brittany Robertson). To Read More Click Here .
You know the show's big when even before its second episode airs, there are already spoilers for what could be its season finale. Life Unexpected kicked off last Monday to positive reviews and even more positive numbers, as its premiere drew in the biggest audience for the CW in over a year, even surpassing the season 1 numbers of Gossip Girl. The characters: quirky, Juno-like Lux (Brittany Robertson - sarcastic, tough teenager who was bounced around foster homes since the time she was born. Strong and opinionated, but we all know that the tough exterior masks a terrible, terrible pain. On a mission to get emancipated, she met her birth parents Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) and Cate (Shiri Appleby), who are not exactly in good places in their lives. The judge in charge of the case granted joint custody of Lux to the two, and Cate and Baze try to make it work for her, throwing her a birthday party and giving her a semblance of a home she never had.
