Lost Girl Reviews & Ratings

60 minutes

'Lost Girl' follows supernatural seductress 'Bo' (Anna Silk), a 'Succubus' who feeds on the sexual energy of mortals. Growing up with human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door - until she drained her boyfriend to death in their first sexual encounter. Now she has hit the road alone and afraid. She discovers she is one of the 'Fae', creatures of legend and folklore, who pass as humans while feeding off them in secret, as they have for millennia. Relieved yet horrified to find out that she is not alone, Bo decides to take the middle path between the humans and the Fae while embarking on a personal mission to unlock the secrets of her origin and find her birth mother. (Easier said than done, as you might expect.)

I'm Canadian, and if you are too then you know how rare it is to have a good 100% Canadian show (not merely an American produce show that is filmed in Canada). The first season was very interesting but you could see that it was "Canadian" whereas in later seasons it didn't have that low budget Canadian vibe. But the problem with the later seasons is that it seemed that the writers didn't really know what to do with the show and the plots just got more and more weird. I stuck in, straight through to the series finale two days ago (despite the Sidereel error showing it is currently airing). And while it did become a show I could live without, it had a great run and I'm happy to have supported a Canadian show.

It's a pretty good show. It started out really strong and I really enjoyed watching it. But it has gotten to the point, at least for me, where it is kind of the same old, same old. Maybe it'll pick up again.

This latest episode, "Rise" s5e16, was one of the best in the series. It was a fantastic way to introduce a new character and a new theme/paradigm. Everything about this episode was well crafted and unfolds many levels of meaning as I recall it again and again.

In spite of the gaudy, overly made up curvaceous buxom female characters, and ripped male characters, the acting is sufficient and the character development of struggling with free choice toward wisdom makes this series worth watching. The plot continues to be intriguing, and the gay and straight love relationships breaks new ground on TV. Leave it to the Canadians!

Ultimately, I enjoy the theme of embracing the dark side with love and continuing to choose the good. No need to divide and hate those who disagree with your value system. Just a cautious embrace to know and love friend and enemy alike.

Ever since the show started, I have been postponing my cancellation. I really don't like the show and yet I keep watching it only because the theme is the type of show I like. I think the show's idea was a great one, but hated Bo through it all. She never grew on me.
Also, the fact that recently the show is airing randomly is not helping.
I found Kenzi cute and humorous and Dyson gentleman and handsome enough to watch it.
I think I will stop watching it.

One of the best shows out there, too bad is coming to an end. Great story, and each episode has a unique take on creatures of every kind that is very appealing. Also, hot cast.

This isn't the show i would normally watched but have to say, its unique, full of drama and exciting. The characters and acting develop over the seasons and the story line are very interesting. This is probably on of my favorite shows.

Very good take on the world of Fae. Love how the intricate nature of the unknown becomes a real story and makes sense. The characters have a special connection that wouldn't work if the actors didn't share it.
