Katherine Heigl listed incorrectly on Emmy ballot â?? after Gold Derby came to her rescue

Attention, Emmy voters: Yes, that's a goof on your ballot. Katherine Heigl isn't in the running for "Desperate Housewives." She's really up for "Grey's Anatomy" despite what the ballot said after Emmy voting commenced at 6 p.m. PST on Friday. The TV academy promises that it will be fixed by Monday morning when staffers return to the office. Meantime, to see the original mistake, click on the image above -- it expands. Frankly, it's a miracle Heigl got on the ballot at all. Clearly, the goof of listing the wrong TV show below her name was made in the mayhem of her name being jammed onto the ballot at the last minute after Gold Derby discovered she was missing from the race. Last Wednesday, Gold Derby discovered that Heigl's name still had not been submitted for Emmy contention only two days before voting was set to begin. It was an omission that surely would've caused an uproar similar to the last time Gold Derby noticed she wasn't listed on the ballot one year after she won best supporting drama actress of 2007. In 2008, Heigl told us, "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention." Her shocking candor caused a series insider to fume to EW over her "ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place." Soon thereafter rumors flew that writers plotted to kill off her character, who came down with cancer. Ultimately, Heigl's character rallied and left the TV series healthy, but 18 months before Heigl's contract was set to end. Heigl quietly rejoined the Emmy race last year, but she didn't get nominated. When we heard that she had not submitted paperwork this year, we asked her new media rep for comment, but the rep told us via e-mail at 7:49 p.m. Thursday night -- less than 24 hours before the start of Emmy voting -- "She DID in fact submit, so this (report) is NOT true." However, Gold Derby double-checked our source, found out our info WAS, indeed, true, and we alerted the new rep. A scramble ensued to cram Heigl on the ballot before a new uproar could break out. On Friday, we received an e-mail from Heigl's rep thanking us for catching the mistake, adding, "We have sorted it out. In the transition between publicity firms, and unbeknownst to Ms. Heigl (or us), the submission was not completed, but now has been!" This year Gold Derby broke the news that another past winner of best supporting drama actress is not on the Emmy ballot -- last year's champ Cherry Jones ("24"). And her rep will not explain why she's absent. Meantime, past Emmy victor of best supporting drama actor, Terry O'Quinn ("Lost") is back on the ballot after quitting the race last year, but his rep has not responded to our request for an explanation. 'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly: Children's book author?

Lost looker Evangeline Lilly dropped by Craig Ferguson's couch last night for some after-hours chit chat. And after covering a few non-kid-friendly topics (Ferguson's snake-shape mug, the potential removability of Lilly's dress, etc.), she shifted gears to give a sneak peek of a children's book she's writing called Squickerwonkers (we're guessing at the spelling there). Here's a sample: 'The name is Squickerwonker, perhaps unknown to you. But that's it, Squickerwonker. And here's what Squickerwonkers do' Of course, Lilly didn't spend six years on that island for nothing: She ends her little recitation with a Lost-worthy cliffhanger about the Squickerwonker's 'horrible secret.' Are they actually smoke monsters? Or maybe they exist in an alternate universe? Lilly says she doesn't have any firm publishing plans yet for the book, so I guess we'll all just have to hang in there for a while. But you know what? The whole thing actually sounds kind of cute. We'd totally pre-order a copy for ourselves our appropriately aged cousins next Christmas. What do you think PopWatchers? Check out the clip below and then let us know: should Lilly take a crack at children's book writing? Source & Video

Top Moments: Lost Lets Go, 24 Moves On and Idol Says Goodbye

Season finales provided a lot of healthy closure this week, at least according to our shrink Mitzi Cohen-McGinty, Ph.D. She says that The Biggest Loser is not just about how we look on the outside. She praised Glee for showing us that there is no "right" when it comes to the relationship between a child and the mother who gave her up for adoption. She thinks Jack and Chloe are totally 24's most codependent coworkers, so it's good that they've decided to spend some time apart. And finally, according to Dr. Cohen-McGinty, Lost's season finale is just a metaphor for the journey to self-actualization that we all must take - except, you know, while we're still truckin' on this mortal coil - and preferably from the couch of her stately Upper West Side salon. Michael Emerson teases 'Lost' epilogue

On yesterday's Attack of the Show, Michael Emerson said the complete-series Lost DVD crashing into your basement in August will contain a 12-minute bonus feature exploring what happened after Ben became second-in-command under Hurley's leadership. 'You could call it an epilogue, ' Emerson teased. 'It's self-contained, although it's a rich period in the show's mythology that's never been explored, so who knows what will come of it? ' Are they just gonna do this for ALL the unanswered Lost questions? I'd probably prefer that to a movie, to be honest. I'd also like a Six Feet Under-esque montage with quick hits of each character's death. What else do you want to see on the mega-DVD-set that will cost 4 8 15 16 23 42 dollars? Source & Video

Lost DVD Will Feature Bonus Hurley-Ben Scene

Lost may be off the air, but the story isn't over yet. Michael Emerson tells G4's Attack of the Show that a special feature on the DVD collection for the entire series will show an epilogue of what happened to Ben and Hurley (Jorge Garcia) once they took over island-protector duties from Jack (Matthew Fox). "For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete Lost series, there is a bonus feature, which is... you could call it an epilogue," Emerson said. "A lost scene. It's a lot. It's 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series. It's self-contained, although it's a rich period in the show's mythology that's never been explored, so who knows what will come of it." Lost: The Complete Collection hits stores on August 24.
