This is fantastic news! I just love this show!
WOW! nice, I like this show also.. :)
Nice! And season 2 isn't even over yet. I love how the relationships evolved this season. Even Tricia Helfer's character settled in well. I had significant doubts it would work out very well at the time.
(BTW, what's the deal with many shows' "winter breaks" happening now? We even had a Christmas episode in February. I'm guessing it was the 2016 election coverage.)
So happy with this news because a world without Mazikeen is a sad world indeed !!!YAY.
@ArkhamNative unfortunately it is not on hiatus, there were only 13 episodes for season 2.
I am glad it was renewed... now we wait until fall :(
@me2011, Fox ordered 9 episodes for season 2, I read it will be back on May the first.
Great news! Love this show, its witty but dark, very cleverly done especially with all the subtle hits and references to hell and the devil throughout the show
its weird to be rooting for the devil lol...but i AM i love this show
I freakin love this show!!! I love LUCIFER and Det Decker's relationship I hope they can make it work but we shall see!!!
I am very happy the show will go on! I love this show. There isn't a bad actor in there. Everyone does a fine job and the storytelling is good too! I am so happy! Did I already say that? Oh well. :-)
@asleom Thanks for the update, that's great news! The sidereel Lucifer page still shows episode 13 as the "season finale".
@ArkhamNative was correct, I am so happy to be wrong...May is sooo much better than waiting until the fall :)
I'm really happy about this as a fan -but from a numbers perspective, I don;t understand this decision at all.
Lucifer repeatedly brought in a fairly small audience of around 4.1 million people, which is especially small for Monday, a day with one of the largest TV audiences where shows like Scorpion bring in around 10 million people. Lucifer is complex because it is both a police procedural, and a genre show, automatically stunting the demographic. In spite of this, and its lower numbers, Lucifer consistently earned around a 1.2 rating which is a pretty solid number, capable of renewal. What perplexes me ... however, is why they would renew lucifer, but cancel Almost Human a few years ago, which brought in 5+ million people and 1.4s. I'm really glad APB is filling in my Almost Human deficit, but it's also very good news that Lucifer managed to hang on another season. As for improving their ratings further, my suggestion would be Thursday.
brilliant cant wait for it to return
At first I was disappointed that this was a police procedural, but the development of the relationships and the turn of events have kept me invested. The best Devil in TV and film I've seen in a long time. A mix of craziness, charm, and mischief.
Not sure where they will take it, but looking forward to finding out.
Phew! I'm invested!
