Medium Reviews & Ratings

60 minutes

From Emmy Award-winning executive producer, creator and director Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting) comes "Medium," a chilling drama series inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois. Patricia Arquette (Stigmata, Flirting with Disaster) stars as a young wife and mother who, since childhood, has been struggling to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people.

The series follows a psychic medium, Allison Dubois.. and is based on a real person called.. guess what? Allison Dubois. This series is loosely based on the above named real life experiences which makes the show even more interesting.

The show is based around Allison's psychic powers where she helps a local D.A. solve crimes using visions she has mostly from her dreams, but sometimes getting visions from just looking at someone or touching things.. which happens rarely within the show.

The show follows, (usually), a set path.. Alison being woken from a dream that you get to see showing something that then leads the D.A. and police to the murderer.. it sounds a little boring and repetitive but in most cases it's filmed in such a way its usually NOT. The show also introduces a number of interesting characters with plot twists that on times befriend Allison and her family, and on times put's them in REAL danger.

I've NOT watched all season as of writing this review, i'm about to start season 5, but I think it warrants enough watch time for me to review it. In all so far it seems a shame the show has ended but with that I can't say much else as I have not watched the complete series yet. As of seeing what people has also wrote about the show it seems the following episodes are great to watch with an all time favorite way the show was ended, which is good news for me.. as I HATE it when shows are NOT ended properly and are left on cliff hangers.

This show was made for Patricia Arquette. No one else could have played this role any better in my eyes. She is the poster picture of what life as a Medium can/should be like and how you can make a difference in the world. Fell in love with her from the first moment.

I was really sorry they took this show off the air. I think it could have gone on for a while longer. Like I have said before for other shows, the characters had great chemistry and the back stories where powerful enough to keep me coming for more.

WOW, WOW, WOW!
Just an amazing show, with one of the best endings one could imagine.

Loved this show, so much! Can't believe it's only now that I'm writing a very short review. The relationship between Patricia Arquette and Jake Weber was so real (in the show - they truly seemed like a married couple), plus their home life with their little girls made a calming antidote to some of the more difficult things Alison had to go through.

Garbage show about a lying POS woman who preys on families who have had love ones pass away. She is an evil psychic vampire feeding off the pain of families who believe her lies.

I enjoyed this show. I'm glad they cared enough about it to give us a proper ending. That is always appreciated. And it wasn't one that I was expecting. Well done.
