Mike & Molly Sneak Peek: Is Three a Crowd in the Bedroom?

Things are a bit ruff! in the bedroom when CBS Mike & Molly resumes its sixth and final season this Monday at 8:30/7:30c. In the episode Weekend with Birdie, Mike brings home the titular stray puppy, which is a plenty heartwarming gesture, of course. But when the new addition results in someone getting kicked out [] http://tvline.com/2016/04/24/mike-and-molly-season-6-spring-premiere-video-dog-bedroom/

The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of April 25, 2016

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed — or at least be able to fake it — with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   Mike & Molly (Midseason Premiere) Monday at 8:00 p.m. on CBS Why: Praise Moonves! Melissa McCarthy's long nightmare is finally over; the A-list film star is free to make Tammy 2 . (But please don't.) OK, I'm sure McCarthy really enjoyed her six years anchoring CBS' benign comedy. Working with James Burrows is a TV actor's dream; her chemistry with Billy Gardell, despite occasional rumors about jealousy, was fun and sweet; the supporting cast was strong; she won an Emmy! But it's time. For some reason, CBS has not treated Mike & Molly like a network priority. Although it's been a remarkably consistent ratings performer since its debut in 2010, this year was the third in a row that the network opted to keep the show off its initial fall schedule. (After two years of late-fall debuts, this year's premiere was pushed to January, then it was off the air for nine weeks before this midseason relaunch.) But leave all the behind-the-scenes drama, well, behind, because this episode is about a puppy. A puppy! Prepare to talk about: That puppy, tho; whether this show will produce a Melissa McCarthy (a supporting TV player who goes on to dominate screens both big and small).   Lucifer (Season Finale) Monday at 9:00 p.m. on FOX Why: Somewhat under the radar, Lucifer is one of this year's most enjoyable new shows, and it's been getting better. Always fun in the can't-believe-I'm-watching-this sort of way, the series, in recent weeks, has created some legitimately dramatic moments and clever quips: "Aren't you supposed to be blonde?" was a great nod to the source material. In last week's episode , the weak procedural element improved big time with a case tied directly to Lucifer. And Tom Ellis delivered. To be fair, he has pretty much all season. Firing off quips like a boss, oozing charm and confidence, he owns this role. And in the lead-up to this finale, he has upped his game. Bring on Season 2. Prepare to talk about: That "pretty shocking" final scene, per Ellis; how meh Dr. Martin is, even though Rachael Harris is fantastic.   Keeping Up with the Kardashians (Season Premiere) Sunday at 9 p.m. on E! Why: Look, no one is arguing that this is brain food. But there's a place on TV for silly, semi-scripted "reality." And the Kardashian klan has found that place, renovated it, torn it down for funsies, and rebuilt an even gaudier version. Over the course of 12 seasons — for nearly a decade — this family has wrung out enough drama to produce 160 episodes of fairly entertaining television. You've got Queen Khloé making the lessers shiver with her devastating shade, Kim ugly-crying her ever-thicker makeup off, and Kourtney giving precisely zero f**ks about anything. But there's fascinating drama, too: Lamar, Rob, Caitlyn, KANYE. I mean… it's nuts. All of it. And that makes for compelling TV. But there's one thing that really stands out above all that stuff. Strip away the profanity and sex and you're left with a pretty wholesome show. After all, this is all about a large, complicated, dysfunctional, loving family coming together no matter how large the obstacle or crazy the circumstances. So don't hate; appreciate. Prepare to talk about: Kim's new baby; Kourtney's babydaddy drama; Kylie's baby makeup empire.   T.J. DeGroat is the editor of SideReel. He's worried about Rob. Why Mike & Molly Isnt Going Out With A Bang

Canceled by inaction. That is the fate that awaits CBS 's Mike & Molly , underscoring a conundrum six-year-old shows face when they come from outside studios and are not arunaway hit the size of The Big Bang Theory. Mike & Molly, starring Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell, received an early Season 6 renewal last March.
