After Detective Murdoch is injured during the pursuit of a criminal, Dr. Ogden and Enid compete to nurse the injured Murdoch back to health. In his delirium he begins to suspect his landlady's replacement of plotting his murder. Meanwhile, Constable Crabtree investigates a case involving a disagreeable parrot and a pickled fingertip.
