Back from five years in the Navy, Kevin plans to buy a house with his girlfriend, Ainsley. When his parents start to dictate the terms, Kevin makes it very clear he doesn't take orders anymore. But without any money for the down payment, the young couple is forced to humour them. Dad, a skilled carpenter, will only consider fixer-uppers, and Mom's priority is to have her son as close to home as possible. Kevin and Ainsley, on the other hand, want a turnkey modern home far away from his parents. The search begins and the real estate power struggle has Kevin swearing like a sailor in no time.
