TV ratings: Winter Olympics and 'American Idol' both slip Tuesday

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014A figure skating-free night at the Winter Olympics Tuesday pushed NBC's prime-time ratings down from Monday, although per usual the network led the night by a wide margin. The first live show of the season on "American Idol" was below average as well, as it often is when it airs outside its usual schedule. The other networks went largely with repeats, although ABC's "Killer Women" ended its brief season on a low note. Of note, a repeat of the "Star-Crossed" premiere on The CW drew better-than-average numbers for a rerun.NBC drew 18.5 million viewers and an 11.0 rating/17 share in households in primetime, almost doubling the 9.6 million and 5.9/9 for FOX. CBS (8.1 million, 5.3/8) came in third. ABC (2.7 million, 1.9/3) finished fourth, and The CW (923,000, 0.6/1) trailed.NBC's 4.8 rating among adults 18-49 easily led the demographic race. FOX took second with a 2.7, well ahead... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-winter-olympics-and-american-idol-both-slip-tuesday.html

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2013Tuesday night TV was back this week with a nearly full slate of new shows, including a couple series premieres. "Intelligence" debuted to 16.6 million viewers, which is up a million viewers from the last new "NCIS: Los Angeles" episode. However, starting Jan. 13, the new Marg Helgenberger drama moves to its regular time, Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT, where its lead-in will be the CBS' comedy block instead of "NCIS," so it remains to be seen how "Intelligence" fares without the lead-in from the biggest show on TV.In other premieres, "Killer Women" debuted to 3.9 million viewers, which is not good. It's up slightly from the new "What Would You Do" episodes before the holidays and also the last new "Lucky 7" episode. But it's not an auspicious start for the new Texas Rangers crime show.A new "NCIS" propelled CBS to a ratings with, with an... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/tv-ratings-intelligence-premieres-big-killer-women-not-so-much.html
