Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013A smattering of reruns on the broadcast networks Tuesday night was good news for some of shows airing original episodes. "The Voice" and "Chicago Fire" both improved on their ratings for last week for NBC, and The CW had its most-watched Tuesday in more than five years."The Originals" scored a series high in viewers, and "Supernatural" had its biggest audience since its season premiere. "Supernatural" also led FOX's "New Girl" rerun and a new "Mindy Project" in viewers and tied among adults 18-49. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," however, was up a little for FOX. "The Goldbergs" dipped without an original "Agents of SHIELD" as a lead-in. The newly engaged Adam Brody will guest-star on an episode of New Girl early next year as one of Jess's ex-boyfriends. According to TV Line, he'll play Berkeley, a former flame who is now a stay-at-home dad who "prides himself on having mastered the art of being an ex." (Perhaps this means he has not , in fact, mastered that art! Shenanigans alert!) While it's always nice to see Seth Cohen, it's starting to feel a little ridiculous that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has not yet guest-starred on this show. http://www.vulture.com/2013/11/adam-brody-will-guest-star-on-new-girl.html

While the fallout of Schmidt ( Max Greenfield ) and Cece's ( Hannah Simone ) second untimely breakup continues to unfold on New Girl, one casualty of his double-timing may be on the mend. Tuesday's episode features Jess ( Zooey Deschanel ) going into damage control mode when Cece's date with Coach ( Damon Wayans Jr .) sends Schmidt into a tailspin. "She's still mad at him for cheating on her best friend, and really Nick is the only one who can handle him when he's in such a weird state," says episode scribe Ryan Koh in the latest clip from the Fox comedy's writers.
