'Nikita's' Aaron Stanford will star in Syfy's '12 Monkeys' pilot

"Nikita" star Aaron Stanford has lined up his next TV role, taking one of the leads in Syfy's pilot "12 Monkeys."Stanford will play Cole, a time traveler from the near future who returns to the present day in hopes of stopping a lethal virus from being released and starting a worldwide plague. It's the role Bruce Willis played in the 1996 movie that forms the basis for the pilot.Amanda Schull ("Suits," "Pretty Little Liars") has also joined the pilot's cast as Dr. Cassandra Railly, who gets pulled into Cole's mission. Madeleine Stowe played a similar part in the film. Syfy has also named Natalie Chaidez ("In Plain Sight," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") as executive producer and showrunner and hired Jeffrey Reiner ("Friday Night Lights") to direct the pilot (he'll also executive produce).Stanford is not the only "Nikita" veteran working on "12 Monkeys." 'Nikita' casts Judd Nelson in major undercover role for final season

Bender is giving up Saturday detention for the spy life: Brat Pack favorite Judd Nelson has just been cast in a majorrole for "Nikita's" final season, TVLine reports. "The Breakfast Club" alum is joining The CW's spy drama for the upcoming Season 4 as a deep-cover operative working for the bad guys -- a.k.a. Amanda (Melinda Clarke) and The Shop's Mr. Jones.Nelson's character is embroiled in a devious worldwide plot, and the only ones who can stop it from coming to fruition are the now-headquarters-less Division. Of course, that's not the best news since they are currently searching for their runaway leader, Nikita (Maggie Q). As if that wasn't enough of a pivotal role for Nelson, his character also has a secret that will "alter the very fabric of the Nikitaverse."
