An epic Biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as told through the eyes of a battle-weary king, a powerful and resentful prophet and a resourceful young shepherd on a collision course with destiny.
Saul confides his worries in David; Ishbaal hires an assassin to kill the prophet; Ahinoam, in an effort to unite the tribes of Israel, proposes a strategic marriage; a traitor is exposed; and David returns home, where he receives life-altering news from a surprise visitor.
In the premiere, King Saul arranges a strategic marriage for his daughter Merav, which he hopes will unify the 12 Israelite tribes against the Philistines; and, in the midst of the wedding preparations, Prophet Samuel brings him a message from God: destroy the Amalekites. In other events, the shepherd David travels to the King's palace in Gibeah in hopes of settling his family's debts.
So let me start by saying that the acting and directing are excellent. Here is my problem....the writers are taking liberties with the timeline. I would have to reread the Old Testament and the story of David to be completely sure but I know he didn't kill the lion that way and I don't think that act gained him entrance to the palace. If you are going to tell the epic story of David, then please get it right because his story is amazing.
