'Parenthood' Season 2 Finale: The Highs and Lows of Family

At its core, Parenthood is about the ups and downs of family. The Bravermans have fun times, but also suffer some tragedies, but they always have each other to lean on through the hard times. The season 2 finale, airing tonight at 10pm on NBC, perfectly embodies that central theme of the show. Following Amber's horrific car accident, the entire family gathers in the hospital to learn her fate, and it's that sense of family that helps the show stand out. Between Parenthood and Friday Night Lights , it's clear that the love and support of an extended family is very important to executive producer Jason Katims. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/parenthood/parenthood-season-2-finale-the-40016.aspx

A Parenthood Reunion for Jasmine and Crosby?

Forgive him or forget him? That's the dilemma Joy Bryant's Jasmine has been wrestling with since her (now former) fiancé had a one-night stand on  Parenthood  (10/9c, NBC). In recent weeks, Crosby (Dax Shepard) has been pulling out all the stops in his campaign to win back the mother of his son, Jabbar (Tyree Brown), but Bryant won't let on about whether his efforts pay off in tonight's finale. "I honestly don't know which way it's going to go," teases Bryant. "He's surprising everybody with how serious he is about doing the right thing. We shall see if Jasmine goes for it." Still, it just might be viewers who have the hardest time letting Crosby off the hook for his bad behavior. "I was in an airport and a woman was like, 'Don't take him back, girl — don't do it,'" recalls Bryant. "People are so invested. It's wonderful and amazing." Parenthood Promo: "Slipping Away"

Each episode seems to bring us closer to the Bravermans, and this week's Parenthood was no exception. But that doesn't mean smooth sailing ahead. Not by a long shot. Next week, Crosby tries a Hail Mary pass to win Jasmine back, Haddie is asked the question no teenager ever wants to hear from a parent, and Amber's life direction spirals out of control, culminating in what looks like a potentially devastating event.
