TV ratings: 'Go On' has solid opening Tuesday while 'The Voice' and 'The New Normal' are steady

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012NBC got pretty decent ratings from its new Tuesday lineup, as "Go On" pulled in solid numbers in its time-period premiere and "The New Normal" drew ratings almost identical to its Monday debut. "The Voice" was off a little bit from Monday's premiere but still drew the night's biggest audience."Parenthood" was also in line with its usual ratings. The caveat, of course, is that the other networks are still in summer mode -- the only other original offering Tuesday night was "So You Think You Can Dance" on FOX. NBC led the night with 8.4 million viewers and a 5.4 rating/9 share in households. CBS (7.5 million, 5.1/8) came in second in viewers, well ahead of FOX's 4.3 million and 2.6/4. ABC (2.4 million, 1.7/3) took fourth. The CW trailed with 670,000 viewers and a 0.4/1.NBC's lead among adults 18-49 was wider -- its 2.9 rating almost doubled... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/tv-ratings-go-on-has-solid-opening-tuesday-while-the-voice-and-the-new-normal-are-steady.html

Parenthood Video: Ray Romano and Lauren Graham on Hank and Sarah’s "Interesting Chemistry"

Ray Romano , the stand-up comedian and star of the wildly popular family sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond , has left the building. But Ray Romano, the co-creator, executive producer, writer and star of the drama Men of a Certain Age , is just getting started. "That ended too soon," Romano tells TVGuide.com of the TNT series, which got the axe after two critically acclaimed but woefully underrated seasons. "I still have the affinity towards...  http://www.tvguide.com/News/Parenthood-Ray-Romano-Lauren-Graham-1052835.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Parenthood's' Jason Katims spies CIA dramedy with 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' writer

Because "Parenthood" meets "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" would be an impossible pitch for anyone to resist, FOX has made a put pilot commitment for a CIA dramedy from "Parenthood" executive producer Jason Katims and "Smith" screenwriter Simon Kinberg.According to Deadline, the show won't follow a married couple but instead tracks a young upstart agent who develops an unexpected father-son bond with his veteran handler. Sounds a little like "Alias" if Sydney Bristow had a sex change. We'd watch anything with Katims' stamp on it (he also shepherded "Friday Night Lights" through its five seasons and won a richly deserved Emmy for writing the series finale), so this already sounds like one of the more promising pilots in contention for fall 2013. But don't get too excited just yet. Kinberg attempted to turn "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" into a weekly series in 2007 starring Martin Henderson ("Off the Map") and Jordana Brewster ("Dallas"), and that never made... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/parenthoods-jason-katims-spies-cia-dramedy-with-mr-and-mrs-smith-writer.html

Parenthood Sneak Peeks: Sarah Gets a Job and Doesn't Fight for Mark

Of all the Bravermans (and there are a lot of them), I think that I root for Sarah the most. Her flightiness, lack of direction, and general inability to remain stable, financially or otherwise, might all be character flaws, but they're also reasons to pull for her on every episode of Parenthood . You want Sarah Braverman to finally put it all together and get to live her life for herself, not her children, not her parents, and not her lover. However, each time that you think that the mother of two might have unlocked the secret to happiness, she finds some way to set herself back. Parenthood Preview: New Jobs and Empty Nests

When Parenthood returns for its fourth season, the Braverman family will be adjusting to a multitude of change. Granted, they're pretty darn resilient and have made it to the other side of problems that might have decimated many other families, but the end of the third season saw a lot of drastic movement in each of their lives. The Bravermans are going to have to figure out how to incorporate that movement into their new lives while managing to stay on their feet.
