'Parks and Recreation's' Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt pack up their Pawnee days

"I'm always excited about what's next."So says Amy Poehler, and it's time for the "Saturday Night Live" alum to focus on that as "Parks and Recreation" reaches the end of its road. NBC's local-government comedy series wraps up its seven-season run with an hour-long finale Tuesday (Feb. 24), but Poehler's intrigue about moving on doesn't mean she won't long for her longtime alter ego: Leslie Knope, who progressed from being a city employee of fictional Pawnee, Ind., to a regional director of the U.S. National Park Service."One of the things I'm going to miss the most is like hearing what's going to happen to Leslie next year," Poehler tells Zap2it. "You know, we would have a summer discussion about it, and Mike [series executive producer and co-creator Mike Schur] would be like, 'I think she's going to run for office.' You knew this was going to happen, and I'm going to really miss that."Schur reflects,... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/P4CTsadhwHg/parks_and_recreation_series_finale_amy_poehler_chris_pratt-2015-02

The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of February 23, 2015

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   Parks and Recreation   (Series Finale) Tuesday at 8:00pm 10:00pm on NBC Why: The most adorable show that you (probably, looking at the ratings) never watched is ending! What will happen to the citizens of Pawnee, Indiana? Will April make it to a big city to meet her fellow eyerollers? Will Leslie become President? Will Ron Swanson immerse himself in a vat of pork? WHO KNOWS?! Prepare to talk about: How this one-time  Office  clone came into its own and, let's face it, became the superior show; what Amy Poehler will do next; how NBC has basically nothing left in its comedy store; which Ron Swanson quote is your favorite.     House of Cards (Season Premiere) Friday at 3:00am on Netflix Why: So, I've recently been informed that the political machinations are about as realistic as anything that has ever happend on one of the myriad  My Little Pony  series, but WHO CARES? Frank and Claire Underwood are the only people in Washington who manage to get it DONE, and for that they should be applauded and envied. Prepare to talk about: Whether anyone will ever really be able to bring down the Underwoods (ugh, I hope not); whether being President was really worth giving up that delicious BBQ; whether the Underwoods make smoking look cool (spoiler: yes); whether you'd vote for Frank.     Battle Creek (Series Premiere) Sunday at 10:00pm on CBS Why: Because it's from the guy behind  Breaking Bad  and  Better Call Saul  and it stars the guy from those (late, great) Allstate "Mayhem Like Me" ads  as a conflicted cop! But more than that, Sundays are totally dead until power players  Game of Thrones ,  Veep , Silicon Valley , and Mad Men  come back.  Prepare to talk about: Whether it's as good as  Breaking Bad ; how it's about time Dean Winters ("Mayhem") got a starring role (sigh, he was so good on  Oz ... remember  Oz ?); whether the whole "conflicted police offer" thing has been  done  or if you're still  feeling it .     Leah E. Mayor Gunderson becomes 'Parks and Recreation's' Season 7 biggest surprise (so far)

For all of its final season, "Parks and Recreation" creator Mike Schur has been teasing that fans' favorite faces and some surprise new ones will be making an appearance. On Tuesday's (Feb. 17) episode one of the biggest surprises came to be -- the man himself Bill Murray appeared on the show.RIP Mayor Gunderson. #ParksandRec pic.twitter.com/i9nz75zyNp-- Parks and Recreation (@parksandrecnbc) February 18, 2015 Part of the reason Murray's appearance was such a surprise is because he played a character that has only been referred to but never actually seen on the show. He showed up as the deceased Mayor Walter Gunderson -- already dead in his casket. He didn't interact with the cast, but did bid Pawnee farewell in a video address. However, for the most part he just laid in his casket, proving that "Parks and Rec" is in its prime as it goes into its final two episodes. The rest of the "Parks... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/sSZVX0swD0g/mayor_gunderson_becomes_parks_and_recreations_season_7_biggest_surprise_so_far-2015-02
