On the way to Nimbasa City, Ash meets a Pokémon trainer named Stephan and the two decide to battle. During the battle, Oshawott's scalchop is kicked away from Oshawott and becomes lost in the woods. Devastated, Oshawott frantically searches for it, but never finds it. Oshawott is saddened by this, so Ash decides to find a replacement for it and train Oshawott how to use it so they can having a rematch with Stephan.
