'Private Practice' star Paul Adelstein dishes on the Season 5 finale

Thank goodness "Private Practice" is officially coming back for a sixth season, because star Paul Adelstein tells Zap2it that the Season 5 finale, airing Tuesday, May 15 at 10 p.m. on ABC, is filled with multiple cliffhangers. " I don't think there's a lot of closure built into that finale," he admits. "There's a lot of stuff going on."Obviously, a lot of the storyline will revolve around Amelia and what's going on with her baby (it's developing without a brain, and she decided to carry it to term and donate its organs to help other infants). At the beginning of the episode, everyone will find out. "There are very mixed opinions and very passionate opinions on both sides of that debate," Adelstein says. 'Private Practice's' Shonda Rhimes: Season Finale Will Leave Some Questions Unanswered

Private Practice  showrunner  Shonda Rhimes  is optimistic that the ABC medical drama will return for a sixth installment and approached writing the final episode of the  Kate Walsh  starrer's fifth year as a season finale instead of a series finale. After losing its cushy post- Grey's Anatomy  time slot earlier this season and relocating to Tuesdays to make way for Rhimes'  Scandal , the drama needed a week to gain its footing but has performed well in its new home, following  Dancing With the Stars . And like everything else on ABC's lineup, is awaiting news about its future, with a decision likely to come this week.
