'Project Runway' Season 12 finale: 'Scandal's' Kerry Washington passes judgment

It won't air for weeks, but for the "Project Runway" Season 12 finalists, it's all over except for the waiting. The last eight designers in the reality show competition all presented their collections Friday (Sept. 6) at New York's Mercedz-Benz Fashion Week held in the middle of Lincoln Center.Judge/host Heidi Klum introduced fellow judges Zac Posen and Nina Garcia, who were joined by "Scandal" star Kerry Washington. Alyssa Milano -- who will host Season 3 of "Project Runway All Stars" -- actress Paula Garces, rapper Bow Wow and 2012's Miss USA Nana Meriwether were also in attendance.Wearing a bronze, one-shouldered gown, Klum, knowing that the fashion week theaters run on an extremely tight schedule, asked to "get the party started," but not before dragging mentor and host Tim Gunn onto the catwalk for a declaration of love."I'm rolling bandages in the back," Gunn said. "Just metaphorically."Alexander Pope led off the show with a cobalt, satin micro... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/project-runway-season-12-finale-scandals-kerry-washington-passes-judgment.html

'Project Runway': Designers Struggle With Fashion History, 'Little Black Dress'

Fashion is about more than just the clothing. It's also about the history of fashion, and that history is what tripped up some of the contestants on this week's " Project Runway ." As part of the challenge, the designers competed in a fashion quiz, and some of them failed miserably. “What designer made the popular term ‘Little Black Dress?’” asked Marie Claire editor-in-chief Anne Fulenwider. Contestant Dom Streater blanked. "Oh shoot," he said. "My teacher’s going to kill me.” “Why can’t these questions be about wallpaper, or photography?" asked Miranda Kay Levy. "I have no idea about the majority of these questions.” Read More... http://feeds.huffingtonpost.com/~r/HP/Entertainment/~3/WPSdLWWbXtM/project-runway-fashion-history-trips-up-designers-video_n_3840773.html

'Project Runway' Season 12: Ranking the Looks of 'Let?s Go Glamping'

In episode six of Project Runway the designers took a glamorous camping trip (or ?glamping,? if you will) to find inspiration for their runway designs. Here is my list of looks from worst to best.   Read More... http://www.buddytv.com/slideshows/project-runway-season-12-ranking-the-looks-of-lets-go-glamping-14948.aspx

'Project Runway' Week 6: Is Tim Gunn crying over wearing camo?

Week 6 of "Project Runway" involved glamping -- that's "glamorous camping" if you're unfamiliar -- and Ken continuing the drama (what is with all the drama this season?) and a bit of a tearjerker at the end. But all in good time.Joining me again tonight for color commentary is my 12-year-old fashion critic daughter Fiona, long-time "Project Runway" fan, and the only person I know who takes a tailored to fit, A-line black toile dress and a variety of accessories to Disneyworld.Last week saw the departure of Sandro Who Can't Control His Temper, and Sue Who Can't Use a Sewing Machine But Can Baste Stitch Like Crazy, and the rise of Ken the Dramatic (although Fiona loves his bow tie tattoo.) No one wants to be sucked into the "toilet of craziness" as the drama is described. This week, the designers are using a day in the great outdoors as their inspiration. Tim Gunn tells them... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/08/project-runway-week-6-is-tim-gunn-crying-over-wearing-camo.html

'Project Runway': Tim Gunn Uses His Save

This week, Justin fell short of judges' expectations with a design described by Nina Garcia as a "foaming vagina" dress. After he was auf'd by Heidi Klum and her cohorts on the judges' panel, Gunn changed the game. “I believe in your talent, and ... I believe, you need a little more time here," he told Justin. "I'm using my Tim Gunn save.” Gina Pusateri, writing for Buddy TV, was totally on board with this decision. "It honestly couldn't have happened to a better person ," she wrote. "Justin vows to prove to Tim that he made the right decision in upcoming challenges.”  Read More... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/23/project-runway-tim-gunn-uses-his-save_n_3802087.html?utm_hp_ref=tv

Project Runway Season 12: Tim Gunn Uses His Save on "Foaming Vagina" Designer — Good Call?

One of the unique things about Project Runway Season 12 is the expanded role of our beloved Father Tim Gunn. He still mentors the designers, but also advises the judges on what was going on behind-the-scenes. He’s not a judge himself, but he was given the power to “rescue” one designer during the season. Last night — on the August 22 Episode 6, “Let's Go Glamping!” — Tim used his save on Justin LeBlanc. The designers, and Tim, were in tears when Justin left, because Justin's a sweetheart and... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/NQiySBPTmDs/2013-08-23-project-runway-season-12-tim
