Potentially good news, "Psych" fans. In addition to the eight-episode Season 8 that USA already announced for everyone's favorite psychic detective, the network has now ordered five additional scripts. Deadline reports that the five extra scripts have been ordered as part of a possible back-half to the season. The show typically splits its 16-episode seasons into two parts, though Season 7 is airing all of its episodes at once (minus the musical episode, which will air as a special two-hour event sometime after Season 7 has finished its run).If 13 episodes are produced for Season 8, we would have to think they would be split as well, though nothing has been announced and there's no guarantee the five extra scripts will be made into episodes. The website is also saying that Maggie Lawson, who has been cast in a pilot for ABC, will be available to do "up to five episodes" of Season 8 if... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/psych-season-8-gets-5-more-scripts.html

After last week's bombshell on "Psych," when Juliet figured out Shawn has been lying to her all along, this week on "Right Turn or Left For Dead" Shawn manages to actually make things worse by missing the point. It's not "if I hadn't given you my jacket," it's "if I hadn't lied to you."Executive producer Steve Franks tells Zap2it that now Shawn has some work to do."Shawn will concoct a few plans on how to make things right again," says Franks. "It'll be fun to see Shawn make his play back and see what works and what fails."But don't worry, "Psych"-Os. Shawn and Juliet won't be apart for too long. "This being 'Psych,' we don't ever torture the audience too long on things like that. There's obviously going to be some time, but I don't think people should be too worried about their future," says Franks. "We won't even drag it out 'til the very... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/psych-shawn-and-juliets-future---dont-be-too-worried-about-it-says-ep-steve-franks.html
After last week's "Psych" bombshell, where Juliet figured out that Shawn has been lying all along about being psychic, things work themselves out rather interestingly in the next episode, titled "Right Turn or Left For Dead."Executive producer Steve Franks tells Zap2it that the episode isn't "It's a Wonderful Life"-y, as most fans have guessed from the episode description. But it's sort of along those lines."It's a little bit of 'Sliding Doors,'" says Franks. "Shawn gets to see, in a way, what would've happened if the events had not played out, if he'd not come clean that night. He gets to see the way things would've happened and the way they did happen."We're very intrigued. And while Franks can't divulge too many details, he does say it's an awesome episode. While he found last week's cliffhanger so "heartbreaking," the follow-up episode is maybe even better."I love ['Deez Nups'], but ['Right Turn or Left for Dead'] is... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/psych-shawn-learns-a-lesson-is-temporarily-displaced-in-right-turn-or-left-for-dead-says-ep-steve-fr.html

"Psych" has put forth some incredible episodes so far in Season 7 -- Shawn going rogue, found-footage, "Clue." But we would like to say that upcoming episode "Deez Nups" is our favorite of the season so far, which is a high compliment indeed. The emotional payoff at the end of the episode is immensely satisfying and packs such a punch. We see now what star Timothy Omundson meant when he told us how great Season 7 is. "Every year this show gets better. Every season, it just gets stronger and stronger. That so rarely happens. These guys and gals in our writers room are firing on all pistons. Season 7 just amazed me what they came up with. It is, by far, my favorite season," says Omundson. "Every season, you're going to have stronger and weaker episodes. This season, there's not a weak one in the bunch. I'm amazed, I really am." We didn't think... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/psych---deez-nups-is-a-spectacular-episode-drunk-chief-vick-and-more-to-look-forward-to.html
Kristy Swanson is making her return to "Psych" in Wednesday's (April 3) episode, titled "Cirque du Soul" -- but Lassiter's girlfriend transitioning out of prison is not a smooth road, star Timothy Omundson tells Zap2it."The first time you're going to see her ... is at her parole hearing. She will get sprung from the hoosegow," says Omundson. "We have to figure out some living logistics because her parole officer happens to be one of the many, many ex-lovers of Lassiter. It apparently didn't end well with her and she takes it out on my lady-love. It's a great episode."We haven't seen the episode, but we second that -- anything involving Lassie's love life is excellent. So, do these living logistics mean that Lassiter and Marlowe are living together?"Come now. Do you think Lassiter is ever really going to settle down that much?" laughs Omundson. "He's thought about it ... but we haven't actually seen co-habitation... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/psych-tim-omundson-teases-kristy-swansons-return-as-marlowe.html

"Psych" offered up an absolutely wonderful homage to the movie "Clue" for its 100th episode, complete with a cornucopia of guest stars that star Tim Omundson says was certainly the greatest gathering of guest stars in one episode. We can hardly choose our favorite "Clue" reference. The singing telegram girl was awesome, the "Clue"-themed "Psych" credits were great and Shawn running around like Wadsworth the butler was definitely amazing. But really, the best had to be the Madeline Kahn shout-outs. Christopher Lloyd's character name was "Martin Kahn" and Lesley Ann Warren did the "flames ... flames ... on the side of my face" bit, plus the episode was dedicated to her memory. Kahn was tragically taken way too early, when she passed away in 1999 of ovarian cancer at the age of 57.The "Back to the Future" reference was a lot of fun too ("Great Scott!") and the collection of weapons was creative -- the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/psych---100-clues-east-coast-ending-sees-spoiler-as-the-killer.html
