‘SNL’ Promos: Paul Rudd Geeks Out Over One Direction, Can’t Remember Vanessa Bayer’s Name (Video)

Paul Rudd and Vanessa Bayer are freaking out about Saturday’s musical guest, One Direction, in this week’s “SNL” promos. If only the grown-man fanboy could memorize Bayer’s name, or she could stop stealing his lines. Fortunately, the “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” actor devises a mnemonic device to remember. 'SNL': Josh Hutcherson has 'Hunger Games' jokes and a sweet mullet

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" star Josh Hutcherson rolled into "Saturday Night Live" ready to play and it made for a pretty fun episode of the show. He also came prepared to wear a never-ending line of wigs, short, shaggy, blonde, brunette. No hair was off limits. The "SNL" writers wisely got all of the "Hunger Games" jokes out of the way in the monologue, as Kate McKinnon did her best Effie Trinket and reaped two cast members into a fight to the death. Cecily Strong killed Bobby Moynihan with an arrow, then gave Hutcherson a piggyback ride, because he's easily injured and needs to be carried around, just like Peeta. The sketches weren't all great, like the adult in a baby's body, but there was plenty of funny to be found. Definite highlights included Hutcherson as Lil Peanut in a short documentary about the worst subway performers ever and "SNL's" amazing tribute to the 80s. Watch Josh Hutcherson's Hunger Games-Themed SNL Monologue (VIDEO)

Josh Hutcherson, aka Peeta in The Hunger Games series, hosted Saturday Night Live last night (November 23) to promote the second film, Catching Fire. His monologue, appropriately enough, had a Hunger Games theme. Kate McKinnon dressed as Effie Trinket in full over-the-top regalia, and two SNL cast members — one male, one female — were chosen as tributes to fight to the death. Ultimately, poor Bobby Moynihan was shot with an arrow by Cecily Strong. She didn't get that last name for nothing!... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/DEr5n1-Sixg/2013-11-24-watch-josh-hutchersons-themed-snl

'Saturday Night Live' video: Rob Ford, Kimye and Lady Gaga

"Saturday Night Live" made good use of the show's host and musical guest, Lady Gaga. With hardly any duds, the sketches were mostly amusing and poked fun at everything from Blockbuster to Toronto mayor Rob Ford to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.Watch the "SNL" sketches below and then vote on your favorite.Rob Ford cold openAlthough the humor in this opening skit depended a little too much on stereotypical pronunciations of "sorry" and "about," it also managed to show accurately how Ford does nothing but dig his hole a little deeper.Paxil: Second-term strengthIs President Obama feeling depressed these days? That would be fair. And now there's an antidepressant aimed just at him!Waking Up with KimyeA parody of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian offered the first chance for Lady Gaga to show off her comedic acting. She did a pretty good job poking fun at fame and excessive costuming."Do What U Want"Gaga brought out R. Lady Gaga on 'Saturday Night Live': Much more than just a singer

Lady Gaga was both host and musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 16. And she killed it -- not only did the singer show off incredible pipes but she also hit all the right comedy notes throughout the show.Keep in mind, Lady Gaga is not an actress. She's a singer. Even with a flair for the theatrical, most musical artists struggle a bit with broad comedy. Gaga, however, dropped right in like she'd always been an "SNL" star. What worked with Gaga?Opening monologueMany singers incorporate their pipes into the "SNL" opening monologue. But very few of them come up with a clever, completely subject-appropriate, original song. There was also choreography. Even more impressive was the pointed and smart humor of the subject: Applause for pandering comments. "Put your hands together if you want to end childhood obesity."Seriously, can every host listen to this song and stop it with the gratuitous-applause commentary? ‘SNL’ Promos: Lady Gaga Saves Tinkerbell, Kenan Rocks a Meat Watch (Video)

Kenan Thompson apparently owns the perfect timepiece for every occasion. This week, the sketch comedy veteran wore his meat watch for Lady Gaga’s “Saturday Night Live” promos. Thompson also performed another short commercial with a lamp and a wig in place of the “Applause” singer — it was a particularly prop-heavy shoot.  Read More... http://www.thewrap.com/snl-promos-lady-gaga-saves-tinkerbelle-kenan-rocks-meat-watch-video/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=snl-promos-lady-gaga-saves-tinkerbelle-kenan-rocks-meat-watch-video

‘Saturday Night Live’: Kerry Washington Is Every Black Woman (Video)

Everyone expected that NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” would utilize this week’s host, “Scandal” star Kerry Washington, to play the First Lady Michelle Obama, but they took it further than that. “SNL” addressed recent criticism over its lack of a black female castmember right from the get go. During the cold open, Washington first appeared as the FLOTUS, and then she had to leave the room in order to switch to Oprah Winfrey. The promise of Beyonce came next, but never materialized. The show also made the statement that it would try harder to cast a black actress unless it fell in love with another white guy, of course. So, did “SNL” make its point?  Read More... http://www.thewrap.com/nbc-snl-kerry-washington-eminem-videos?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=saturday-night-live-kerry-washington-every-black-woman
