‘SNL’: Bruce Willis Busts a Move and Spoofs All Over Himself (Video)

Bruce Willis hosted “Saturday Night Live” this week, showing off his dance moves and proving that he has a sense of humor about his career as an action-movie star. ‘SNL’ Defying Ratings Expectations Despite Cast Exodus

“Saturday Night Live” may have lost some of its biggest stars, but it hasn’t lost viewers. At least not so far. Even without the likes of departed stars Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, “SNL” is having a very solid start to its 39 th season. Not many people saw that coming. While the final 18-49 demographic numbers for the show’s second week will not be available until Thursday, the Miley Cyrus-fronted episode is up in the local people meters by 23 percent versus the same night last year (2.7 vs. 2.2). That very preliminary rating matched the season premiere’s from the week prior.   Read More.... http://www.thewrap.com/snl-exactly-missing-stars-least-ratings/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=snl-exactly-missing-stars-least-ratings

'The Mindy Project': 'SNL's' Vanessa Bayer to guest star

Continuing the stream of "Saturday Night Live" stars popping up on "The Mindy Project," Vanessa Bayer is set to guest star in an upcoming Season 2 episode.TVLine reports that the sketch show vet will pop up as a potential love interest for Chris Messina's newly single Danny, now that ex-wife Christina (Chloe Sevigny) is finally out of the picture. Though Mindy (Mindy Kaling) is still engaged, we bet we'll see a spark of jealousy out of Dr. L.Bayer, who just kicked off her fourth season on "SNL" on Saturday (Sept. 28), follows in the footsteps of Bill Hader (who has recurred as Mindy's ex) and Seth Meyers, who dated Mindy in an early Season 1 episode.Do you think Bayer will fit in well on "The Mindy Project"?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/the-mindy-project-snls-vanessa-bayer-to-guest-star.html

'Saturday Night Live' Season 39: Six new cast members introduced, reflecting a startling lack of diversity

With the Great "SNL" Exodus of Spring 2013, the long-running late-night sketch show was expected to return for Season 39 with a few new cast members. As the revamped opening credits during Saturday's (Sept. 28) premiere made clear, there were several new faces to look out for during the episode. Also made clear? Lorne Michaels has a diversity problem. Let's take a look at the names of the newbies: Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, Kyle Mooney, Mike O'Brien, Noel Wells and Brooks Wheelan. Yeah -- six new cast members, all white, only one woman. (In case you were wondering, with a few of those names being a bit unisex, Wells is the female. She, along with Bennett, Mooney and Milhiser are photographed above.) While "SNL" has never been especially diverse, this season's crop of newbies feels especially jarring. Perhaps it's just because of the surprising high number of additions that makes the white-wash that much more... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/saturday-night-live-season-39-six-new-cast-members-introduced-reflecting-a-startling-lack-of-diversi.html

'Saturday Night Live' premiere: Aaron Paul shows up as 'Breaking Bad's Jesse for cold open

Season 39 of "Saturday Night Live" only just got underway on Saturday (Sept. 28), but the surprises have already started coming.During the cold opening of the season premiere, which featured Jay Pharoah's President Obama addressing the nation, hoping to explain Obamacare to a confused country before the law goes into effect. Opting to bring out regular Americans to explain how the new law will help them, Obama brought a familiar face: Jesse from New Mexico.Arriving to explosive applause, Aaron Paul took the podium in full Jesse Pinkman form, he began, "I had this friend and he got sick, like, cancer-sick. But because there wasn't Obamacare, he couldn't afford the treatments, so he was like, backed into a corner, you know what I mean? So he did what any of us would've done. He started cooking meth."As a horrified Obama rushed to get Jesse off-stage at the mention of murder, the visiting druggie asked, "But, wait,... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/saturday-night-live-premiere-aaron-paul-shows-up-as-breaking-bads-jesse-for-cold-open.html

Lorne Michaels and Tina Fey talk 'Saturday Night Live' premiere

"Saturday Night Live" is kicking off its 39th season Saturday, Sept. 28 with a return from former cast member and head writer Tina Fey. Creator Lorne Michaels says it's going to be an excellent show. "Every time Tina has come back, the show's been great," Michaels tells the AP. Fey adds, "I'm always happy to play the straight person, so, hopefully, the cast will get to do more than when they have other kinds of hosts. You might get to see those new guys more. Although I'm not promising their parents anything."Michaels adds of the new cast members, "The intent is always to go slowly and not put anyone out there unless you can feel they score.""SNL" is debuting six new faces after the recent departures of Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis. It's a big overhaul for the show, but that's generally how it goes with "SNL.""It's always been... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/lorne-michaels-and-tina-fey-talk-saturday-night-live-premiere.html

The Tina Fey SNL Promos Are Here!

Save for this brunch picture, few things in this world seem as perfect as Tina Fey hosting the 39th season premiere of Saturday Night Live , or any episode of any season of any show , for that matter. For those who aren't already ridiculously excited for her appearance, Fey and Kennan Thompson cut a few promos. Her reasons for tuning in include: “you’ll be done before the Breaking Bad finale,” “you might see Tina’s boobs,” and “friendship.” We’d like to add “maybe just maybe Amy Poehler will join her on the Weekend Update desk” to the list. Oh, and expect to never think of number 39 the same way again.   Read More...     http://www.vulture.com/2013/09/tina-fey-snl-promos-are-here.html
